Clocks most likely not final, we already know Intel has a 3.6 GHz 12C server part. Still, this 2.9-3.05 GHz ES is beating a mix of OCed 6950X's by 12% in single-thread: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...ntel-Skylake-X-12-Core-HEDT-12C/3604vsm278103

Yeah, that was interesting, especially considering 2.9-3.05. But I wonder if Userbenchmark is correctly reporting single core boosts? Because it seems rather odd that 12c part would outperform 10c part in single thread by that much. Unless, that is, there is something else fundamentally different about the 12c unit.

But usually when chips start appearing on userbenchmark they are final clocks. They were with all the Ryzen flavors and the 7700k, when I saw them pop up before release dates.

Has Kabys IPC but I wonder if the heat its generating is killing them, pretty low clocks so far.

Well, the Broadwell 10c is only 3.0 GHz base. So a 3.1 GHz base for 10c Skylake-X doesn't seem unreasonable. It gets a small clock bump, plus the IPC bump. 12c drops a hair to 2.9, it would seem.

I bet the 6c and 8c Skylake-X chips will clock higher though. In fact, I'd wager we will see +100 to +200 MHz over each comparable Broadwell. It'll be a nice little jump.

Maybe you missed Xeons with 12C 3.6Ghz BASE clock and 130W for 1265$.

SKL-X lineup.
7920X? 12C/24T, 16.5MB L3, 44 PCIe lanes. All clocks TBD.
7900X 10C/20T, 13.75MB L3, 44 PCIe lanes, 3.3Ghz base, 4.3Ghz turbo 2.0 and 4.5Ghz turbo 3.0.
7820X? 8C/16T, 11MB L3, 28 PCIe lanes, 3.6Ghz base, 4.3Ghz turbo 2.0 and 4.5Ghz turbo 3.0.
7800X 6C/12T, 8.25MB L3, 28 PCIe lanes, 3.5Ghz base, 4.0Ghz turbo 2.0.

xx20 may be xx50. All looks to be AVX512 enabled. L2 cache is 1MB. All parts 140W and quad DDR4 2666.

I hope the 8 core will be cheaper since it has less lanes, I don't plan of using SLI or Crossfire and I guess having less lanes will result in a cheaper price.

Now we have I9, still believe a big price cut is coming. Lol. They also cut the lanes down to only 28 on the lower end stuff but hey you get useless quad channel that only does something in a synthetic benchmark. I bet 12C $1,200, 10C $900, 8C $750, 6C $500. A small step down in price but still over priced.

I expect 12 C takes the current 10C pricing.
10C takes the current 8C pricing .
8C takes the higher of the 6C pricing .

That depends who you are. Skylake-SP have been generating revenue since Q4 last year ;)

Hmmm, I have not seen it yet in my very small small small storage company, which has a lab with 40+ racks of various computing equipment. But I am sure it will turn up some day, along with CPU's from other vendors.
