Been trying to put the linksys behind the NVG but no luck there...Next I tried to make the WRT54G as a repeater for wireless. It has much better wireless than the NVG does. For what ever reason I'm unable to make the router work as a repeater. Any help would be great.

Need Help With NVG510/ linksys wrt54g

You're going to need to outline how you have this stuff connected.
The AT&T NVG devices are modems/router combinations. I would ask if you can get it placed in bridge mode and connect your own edge router/firewall to it.

The NVG510 can not be placed in bridge mode but some have done pass through..I could not get that setup going either. Other than one PC which would be wired..Ipad, firestickYou're going to need to outline how you have this stuff connected.

Best thing would be to turn off the Wi-Fi from the NVG, and use the WRT54G as just an access point. For the WRT, you'd have to turn off the DHCP server, make sure it has it's local IP address set to the same subnet as the NVG, then make sure you connect by the LAN port of the WRT to the NVG. No repeater, or other special, wonky configuration to do.
If you can install DD-WRT on your router, you can actually turn the WAN port into another LAN port, which will simplify the connection. I did this for several years before my WRT54G gave up the ghost.
