I been going back and forth about Upgrading my Current motherboard & CPU. My System is about 3 years old.

I used MSI Godlike for awhile and still have the following issues even after three or four RMA.

Issues I recall Having already:

1. One Slot of PCie is constantly dead (Even after RMA the board three different times) (One right next to my WiFi PCie card)
2. Due to the size of 980 Ti I can't fit anything in the next PCE-i slot (Which reduces the count from 5 to 3 already)
3. My Ram and MSI board constantly fight with one another. I turn on XMP.... Beep Unstable Ram. It's basic Corsair Dominator Platinum
4. MSI and Windows 10 also don't get along. Get errors from Windows Updates to BSOD.
5. the left side of the board past the IO, is metal with cheap paint Job, It's already scratched up, Even though I was very careful placing it.
6. Entire left side of my GPU is all scratched up and paint has already came out from just install my GPU.
7. The supplied Drives & software never works, If it does not detect the network card your kind of screwed if you don't have another PC.
8. a Few times it didn't even install all the files for Windows 10.

I'm thinking of Upgrading to Asus Rampage Edition 10 with i7 6950x Processor. I was wonder if I could get any input of the Asus motherboard and if it's worth the upgrade.

One small note, I will be running dual M.2 drives(Not in Raid). One from M.2 Slot or both in the pcie slots (With a Waterblock) to keep the temperatures down.

*Side Note 2* If I do upgrade any ideas what to do with my current parts? It seems no wants to buy high end parts.

I've been running 3x rampage v 24/7 for the past year or so. Been running smoothly thus far and they are all overclocked.
Only thing to note is that a sata m2 drive will not work in the m.2 slot. It has to be pcie based not sure if other boards are like this as well.

I too have had several rampage boards.
Currently I am running a 3930k on a rampage IV Extreme http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131802 with 32 gigs of Corsair ram.
I have owned a Rampage III Extreme http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131642
I have owned a Rampage II Extreme https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_II_EXTREME/
I have owned a Rampage Formula http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284 in the past.
Ihave owned a Maximus Formula http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131221
And just this month i started to part a new pc together. The 1st part i got was an Asus ROG Rampage V Extreme With 3.1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._re=rampage_IV_Extreme-_-13-132-505-_-Product, I have 32 gigs of ram and a H110 cooler. I plan to buy a 6950x later this month and a In win 805 Infinity case. The one constant in all my builds have always been Asus high end boards. I have yet to see one of them fail (knock on wood) I leave my computers run 24/7/365 and i have NEVER had a motherboard or CPU die on me yet and i have been building systems since the mid 90's. I have built systems for my family and friends and i always use Asus motherboards to ensure they keep on kicking. I would highly advise you to buy Asus and never look back again.

I don't think it's worth the "upgrade." It really isn't an upgrade in most respects.

Q&A / Comments / Thoughts

1. One Slot of PCie is constantly dead (Even after RMA the board three different times) (One right next to my WiFi PCie card)

I would start looking at chassis issues. Something is probably causing a short here or grounding out that slot. This same slot doesn't fail three times without the problem coming from something other than the motherboard. The odds of that happening are up there with getting hit by an asteroid on the way home.

2. Due to the size of 980 Ti I can't fit anything in the next PCE-i slot (Which reduces the count from 5 to 3 already)

Every motherboard out there will have this problem unless it physically has less slots to start with.

3. My Ram and MSI board constantly fight with one another. I turn on XMP.... Beep Unstable Ram. It's basic Corsair Dominator Platinum

XMP and memory compatibility has been a whipping on the bulk of X99 and Z170 motherboards I've worked with.

4. MSI and Windows 10 also don't get along. Get errors from Windows Updates to BSOD.

I have never experienced this. I suspect something else is going on.

5. the left side of the board past the IO, is metal with cheap paint Job, It's already scratched up, Even though I was very careful placing it.

Agreed.

6. Entire left side of my GPU is all scratched up and paint has already came out from just install my GPU.

I'm not sure what you did there, but this can be a result of cooler design and what slot you install it in. If you have USB cables plugged into the headers, etc. Not all GPUs may scratch so easily. I normally use reference cards and don't have this issue.

7. The supplied Drives & software never works, If it does not detect the network card your kind of screwed if you don't have another PC.

The driver's that come with the motherboards are always out of date and they shouldn't be used. That said, we've used the driver discs that come with the motherboards for every review we've done over the last 10 years and I've rarely ever had significant or even insignificant issues with those drivers.

8. a Few times it didn't even install all the files for Windows 10.

Again, I haven't encountered this issue. There are some drivers that do require manual or separate installation. WiFi controllers are often examples of this.

I don't think it's worth the "upgrade." It really isn't an upgrade in most respects.

I think Dan summed it up perfectly.

I've been using a RVE for almost a year and never had an issue with it. I had an RIIE before that and never had any issues with that either.
I also agree with Dan as i don't think it's a real upgrade, more of a lateral move.
However, I'd look into your case, etc. and figure out if that is causing some of your issues as it will probably continue even with the RVE E10.
