PC Hound - Build a PC in Seconds

Thoughts?

I keep going back and forth between a Noctua NH-D15S and the Corsair. It'll be a mild OC if anything.

FPS gaming Arma 3, OverWatch, new Doom, etc
Some online games WoW, etc

Noctua could give you quieter operation, I think AIOs are better only in cases where airflow is a problem.
Regardless of performance or noise, I would surely get an AIO for myself as the Noctua would look ugly af from the window

No window, don't care about "looks".

Current I7 LGA2011 has a Noctua on it, and it's been flawless. Sometimes I just feel I should try something new (as opposed to the 'it ain't broke don't fix' school of thought)

No window, good airflow = no reason to not go for the air cooler.
But dosent the 750d have a window in the picture?? or is it a different version

Better be more than a mild OC if you plan to play ArmA 3 with any sort of regularity, especially with the amount of money you're plunking down on the cooler. Your build isn't dissimilar from mine, and I can report temps as good or better than the H115i with the less expensive Arctic Liquid Freezer 240. Unless you have a specific need for a 140mm x2 rad, I don't see why you wouldn't go with the Arctic.

I've been playing Arma 3 since it's release on my current rig just fine. I'm sure the upgrade will be faster. Money isn't really a concern, to a point. The difference between the cooling options is minimal. I'm an adult, and have a good job.

It might I just grabbed the first 750 that popped up to add it in. I'll probably go Noctua, in the end, less shit to go wrong (KISS), thanks for the input.

One nice thing about being an adult is the maturity to consider, without necessarily accepting, friendly and useful suggestions from those in similar situations.

I ran ArmA 3 "fine" on my previous system, an OCed i5-3570k. I now run it much better on the current system in my sig, which is specced very similarly to your proposed system. Whether you agree with the advice or not, dropping "I'm an adult" as a means of disregarding advice you have actively solicited is actually rather childish.

I will never go with another air tower cooler after going with an AIO. Not only are they quieter, but the dispense the heat directly out the case as long as you mount the radiator with the fans blowing the hot air out. The inside of my case is overall cooler than it's ever been. Same thing with the hybrid GPUs. I wont purchase anything else now.

You brought up money, my point was, as you seemed to have missed it, that it was not a concern. "... especially with the amount of money you're plunking down on the cooler."

Try not to read so much into stuff in the future, it seems you aren't very good at deciphering what is being said.

Nowhere in this thread, prior to my posts, have you stated that money is not a concern. And frankly, parts lists are not implications of financial freedom. For all we know, you've spent six months carefully saving and budgeting like a responsible person.

Put your e-penis away.

Lol ok there buddy.

If you think my entire point was to brag about being able to afford an $80 air cooler, or an $100 AIO... well, that's kind of funny. This place is full of NEETs and I was just trying say that wasn't factored into my decision making.

This is what happens when you go outside GM. Carry on.
