World's Best Automatic Breakfast Maker

Ummm, what was that white, slimy looking stuff that was coming out of the hard boiled egg maker?

Why would there be egg on the outside of a boiled egg? Unless they broke an egg in it and didn't bother to clean it out before recording the video.

I initially thought that as well, but then I thought.. surely they wouldn't be that sloppy with a video they are going to post.

Maybe I was wrong.

Sometimes eggs have a small crack, which causes egg-whites to be pushed out of the egg during boiling.

He modeled it in Meccano first before he and his buddy built the fixed version. Doesn't get anymore British than that lol!

Gotta say, I'm impressed. I mean it's completely impractical, but so entertaining to build and watch.

This happens about once a year and I go through a shit ton of eggs. I would eat less eggs if each boiled egg look like a jizz bomb exploded on it. His machine is fucked if it can't manage to make two eggs with jizzing on them twice :p

He made a machine that literally can't boil an egg. Probably needs to figure out how to boil the water using more even heat.

Rolling up the tablecloth and having all the dishes fall from a few feet was a nice touch :D

I'm guessing that electric heater is causing a reaction with the egg shell, or something in the water?

I'd imagine putting the egg further down in the water would work

Holy shit can any of you cook lol?

White stuff is the egg white coming out of a crack in the shell. Some egg cookers prick the egg to let pressure out, often a small air sac in the egg.

And here is the ultimate, OG breakfast machine :D

I see it most often when the water is more furiously boiling -- I think the eggs might be bouncing against each other... that one of course was by itself.

I have however seen it happen many times.

All it does it shoot ya. It doesn't make breakfast at all!

:)

This old guy spent more than a thousand hours making this mechanical replacement of a wife that automatically makes eggs, toast, coffee, tea and delivers your Sunday paper. Props to pops on this one!

There I corrected that for you. And it looks even better than some of the women I've seen!

I've seen better, 30 years ago! For this to be even considered breakfast the eggs need to be scrambled or sunny side up. There needs to be sausage or bacon. And, this needs to be all done with a steam engine.

I've never once had that happen to an egg... weird.

It happens more with older eggs. The whites get more fluid and are more likely to come out if there is a crack, and older eggs have more gas inside which is more likely to expand on boiling and crack the egg.

Either that, or the egg gods have bestowed their slightly sulphurous blessings upon you!
