If you thought you had an impressive collection of games on Steam, you've got to see this guy's collection. With 5,019 games owned (and 3,372 DLC), that means he owns over half of all the games on Steam. The cherry on top of the cake? He just hit level 1,049 as well.

Wonder if he's even played them all. I have like 300 games/DLC and haven't even gotten to them all.

I have a 194 games not counting DLC I feel like I own a lot. That's quite a collection but a good bit of that has to be filler games not worth playing.

Can't tell if this is better or worse than collecting physical things. I mean either way collectors don't actually play with what they collect just look at obsess over them can't tell if that thing being real or virtual makes it more or less meaningless.

i wonder what would happen if steam hq got bought out

who would buy them ?> microsoft or EA.. I guess gabe is going to milk it until he croaks from a heart attack

He's a Japanese at that, which makes this even more interesting, because PC is only for NEETs there by and large. His own description of himself supports that whole stereotype too.

Someone is probably sniffing his connection now trying to snatch that account info.

He has so much in-game time that either he is a NEET (and probably also a hikikomori) or multiple people.

I had to look up the term NEET. I am seeing that as being a term that is about the same as saying lazy bum. However the issue with that is how much it would cost to buy this many games. I would think more of a rich kid that doesn't have a need to work. Does a spoiled rich kid call into the same term meaning for NEET? We wouldn't look at a poor person who doesn't work and sits around all day in the same way as say a rich person who has no need to work. We also wouldn't look at a stay at home mom or dad where the other makes enough money to support the family in the same way as either of those two.

I saw a guy in a Steam game review say he had over 2,000 games so I checked out his game list in his account and he had a boat load of those casual puzzle type games and those don't cost much anyway. I have over 200 and play maybe five of them.

I'm good with the 205 games I have. Most were bundles and a few gifts. I only buy the ones that I plan on playing a lot. I've got 150 hours in kerbal space program for instance....

I'm embarrassed to say I have about 600 games. A lot of these are total crap that I got from bundles - you see 1 game you want, get 7-10 more for the ride that are not worth playing.
I've maybe played about 150-200 of the games? Most of mine I buy are old and cheap. I bought Total Annihilation the other day (even though I owned this in the 90's - can't find my discs). $1.74 on Steam - I have put in about 4 hours with it since I bought it. Great game.

My best friend has 5238 games on steam, and he family shares with me and my sad collection of only 1095 games.

Oh and he is a Cruise Ship Pilot and makes like 300k a summer, and he just like's collecting games. He is also a Cross-fit champion, and married with lot's of kids. I am poor, but l like buying charity bundles. That's how I obtained most of my games. I probably only have played 1-2% of my games. My wife complains if I play too much. I probably have another 100 games on other game networks like Origin, UPlay,
and Galaxy. I think Steam levels are overrated. I usually sell my cards and buy games with the money during sales.

Thats not bad, I'm currently at around 1500 games+DLCs. Whats more interesting is the $30-50k he spent getting to level 1000.

Got around 250 or so, and a lot of it is bundle trash. When I looked at my level last time, by games played, I had maybe 10 games that had more than ten hours on them, the rest were nowhere near. Got about 20 on GoG and only half of those have any real playtime.

I keep doing this stupid thing where I buy games I used to love (Shogo, anyone?) and then promptly don't play them. On the flip side, I've almost finished Ground Control, which only came out almost 20 years ago, so.... I should finish up Witcher 3 sometime around 2035.

He gets many games gifted to him. It's become like a community thing just to see how high in level he can get.

It's not the quantity but the quality and 80 percent of steam games suck thanks to the greenlight.

It's not hard, all you have to do is buy every cheap bundle in existence. I've changed to sticking to better quality games. And try to avoid "The Overwhelming Negative Steam Game Bundle!" bundles.

Most of it is what I call block-graphic side scrolling VIC-20 bullshit. Most of those games look like crap from 30+ years ago.

Some of this people are "Steam Friends" with free access to game library. Friend from Netherland was working with Steam more than 10 years ago and still have free access. His game list is also sick.
His Steam level is much lower but game list higher. Looks like this guy was really playing game or unlocking Badges. Will ask him today how this goes, coz his Inventory is full of Gifts, looks like they get
gifts for free.

Maybe some crazy Steam LvL freak or someone close to Steam.

I have 182, which may soon jump to 200+ once I buy the sega genesis bundle.

I wish Bloodstained would come out sooner, I am running out of decent graphics Metroidvania games. Been playing Shantae and Rabi-Ribi instead... not bad games, mind you, but could do with a dose of eye-candy every now and then.

Whoa thats cray, I have 45 games and know thats just way to many. I only play 4 or 5 of them. I do love the steam Christmas sale as I always pick up something cheap that I always wanted to try but didn't want to fork out major cash for something I may not like.

I look at the hours myself and others have wasted playing games and think, had I studied the books I could be a surgeon, a lawyer, pro artist. Then I'm like nah I like being a poor bloke back here in the woods sheltered in my own little world of a cabinet shop. Time well wasted I say.
