Batman: Arkham Knight

so when Rocksteady says the interim PC patch is scheduled for an August release they probably mean August 31st  ...so this interim patch is still not good enough to get the game back up on Steam??

Evidently not. That's just sad. I really want to play this game.

they said that the August update would fix the major issues so I'm shocked that it's still not good enough to get re-released...I guess they want everything to be perfect to avoid another backlash...I was going to wait until the game was re-released to start playing but I think I'll give it a go when the August patch hits

It's only August the 2 on a Sunday (in much of the world). We have a full month ahead of us before this patch is due out, yes, or even any further information?

This is just absolutely ridiculous!!! I don't remember any game launch this fucked up ever in the 30 years Ive been gaming. This was one I was planning on buying day 1 and the most anticipated game for me since Mass Effect 3. This really just pisses me off to no end that Rocksteady could think so little of the PC segment that they'd shit all over it like this.

Tried the latest patch on my living room PC with a HD7950 and a Phenom 9750 in it. Just running the demo everything is cool (35 - 40fps @720p low settings) until the Batmobile shows up. Then it's 5 fps. So they have a long ways to go. :)

So I guess the timeline leaked by that EBGames memo is looking credible....like I said back then, most clusterfucked AAA release in PC gaming history.

Ive been lucky to be able to play without too many problems. Game is great.

Yeah. I didn't think we'd see anything beat AC Unity for a long time but this has quite handily leaped well passed that mess.

Ya same here. Since windows 10 the game has been playable for me. Not perfect, but very playable.

The game has been blowing my mind so far!!

I'm the Goddamned Butler! :p

I finally got around to downloading this through a mates Steam account which he already owns the game and the DLC's on. I've got everything maxed out and I'm getting only about 48fps avg. Highest was 60 and lowest was 34 via the built-in benchmark. Played a bit of the Harley DLC and it's definitely playable but not perfect.

So what your saying is, that you now have an illigal copy running on your PC.

You do know Valve actually allows this, right? Technically it's meant more for families but there are no limitations towards game sharing being on the same network.

Family Library Sharing allows selected accounts to use your game library on authorized computers while you're not playing. You can authorize up to 10 computers at the same time.

Well, I just finished the "main" story-line. A little predictable, they shouldn't have given so many hints! Anyways, while I found the middle of the game a little boring, I definitely felt it picked up near the end. While I vowed to not go for the 100%, I see now that it actually adds more game, not just an alternate ending. I will finish the Riddler crap, checkpoints, bombs, and Azrael after the game is patched. Until then, I am moving on to better things.

the DLC's for Arkham Knight are all ridiculously short I hear...the Red Hood DLC is literally 10 minutes long...seriously!...the Harley Quinn one is around 30 minutes...Batgirl DLC is 2 hours...the Arkham games have all been fantastic but the story based DLC have always been a bit underwhelming...I recently played the Harley Quinn's Revenge Arkham City DLC for the first time and although it wasn't bad it wasn't all that amazing either

how much more game does it add?...I always thought it was just an alternate cutscene

I could spend the rest of my life playing this game and I still would not manage to collect 200+ riddler trophies. I suck at riddler puzzles.
I spent nearly an hour on the sliding boxes in the airship before I just said fuck it.

You are more patient than I am.

I have 96 percent completion and can initiate Knightfall whenever I want. I did absolutely everything else in the game.

Good enough.

Unfortunately that isn't the full Knightfall ending. You really do need 100% to get all of it.

I played the Mr Freeze DLC for Arkham Oriigins a few months ago and it was pretty cool.
The story was interesting and the whole thing lasted maybe 2 hours...

Or YouTube. :D

I ended with 96% or so myself. I was pretty happy with that. Grinding out the trophy's just isn't something I can see myself doing at the moment.

Though once I get to messing with that Alfred mod.... I might go try to get some of them while playing as him just for kicks. :p

how much extra ending content is there once you hit 100%?

All it changes are which of 2 ending videos you get. One has more than the other.

Wasn't worth finding another 130 trophy's for me. Not now anyway.

Eh no, it isn't as pointed out already, Steam has had the rule of family sharing an account (or friends account) since the dawn of Steam. It's only illegal if somebody distributed a copy of the game with cracked files, that is illegal.

someone earlier in the thread mentioned that it was more then just a new cutscene and that additional content was added once you hit 100%...guess he was mistaken

You get the ability to do a NewGame+ either way. This starts you out with all the toys from the beginning but the enemies are all on nightmare level difficulty I believe. Not sure there's any other content though.

I'm planning to do this at some point with that Alfred mod. Should be entertaining.

Oh and doing a NG+ carries over any trophy's you found from the normal playthrough, so you can keep working towards them all if you want.

Just finished, great game overall. Really picks up in the last few hours. Watched the 100% Knightfall ending on YouTube.
I see a lot of people complaining about the tank segments but it felt like just the right amount for me.

Their cutscene team deserves a lot of praise, it was very cinematic. Did a lot of stuff I've never really seen done in a game before.

I just wish so many boss battles didn't revolve around the tank. I was super disappointed that the
Deathstroke
fight was just a vehicle fight.

I ended up picking up the code from a Hardforum member. So I started playing it a little bit. Although I'm frustrated by one of the Riddler's tests due to hating the launch / glide mechanic with relatively low ceilings the game has been great so far. It's also running better than I expected on my machine. (Thankfully.)

IIRC it helps if you turn SLI off if you haven't.

I did the same, got the code off the FS forum. The game looks/is great IMO. Mostly my kids play it but I do the riddler missions for them.

Didn't they fix that in the most recent patch? I doubt that I could max everything out and have it play as well as it is now with a single card.

I know there was a patch that helped, but I haven't done SLI in AK since around two months ago. If it has been since then I couldn't say. I know my SLI utilization was at around 70% when I had it. If you're not having issues that's great.

Thanks to this game being so messed up, I got both it and the season pass for the grand total of... $20.

Managed to finish the main story some weeks ago even with all the hiccups, that one BMT configurator some dude on Steam was working on actually worked wonders for all the hitching I got in the beginning. I have one card dedicated to PhysX and it plays just fine now.
