Normally an Android user so forgive me. I took a picture and want to share it via Google Hangouts. I click the share (export?) button on the bottom left of the camera gallery and I don't see an option to share via hangouts.

Okay, so I thought then dropbox, but I don't see that

Okay, then I can airdrop it to my mac then send it from the mac - but that doesn't seem to be supported either.

Am I doing something wrong here? Why does the share button not have all "sharable" actions in there? I see Flickr in there, so there are custom share options, just not hangouts or dropbox.

I haven't done it lately but I used to sync to dropbox from the iPhone. In the Dropbox settings there's a "Camera Upload" toggle switch. You might also have to give the app permission to access the photos.

I have my iPhone set to backup via Google+.... works exceptionally well and easy to share through G+.

Right, I did see that option. However, I don't want to sync all of my photos, just wanted to upload one or two. There are quite a few on there, some of which are large movies, that do not need to be sync'd.

Hmm, same issue as the above I suppose. I guess the crux of it is, why are the Hangouts / Dropbox apps not using the same photo sharing mechanism that Flickr is using which allows one to share a photo? Seems to be an issue on the app end, not iOS.

I've encountered this same issue. I usually just upload pictures/videos I want to upload to Dropbox and share from there whenever I get to my comp. Sucks but it's the only way around it. I always thought it was an iOS issue I guess not.

I think that flickr sharing is baked into iOS, that is why you are seeing the option to share from the gallery there. Dropbox is not (yet, I think it's coming in iOS 8).

Anyway, do it the other way around. Open the Dropbox app, navigate to the folder you want to upload the photos to, select the "3 dots" in the upper right corner, then select "Upload". It should ask for permission to access your photos (if you haven't given it permission before) then it'll open up your gallery to select photos to upload. Then press "Upload" in the top right corner.

Dropbox is not in iOS8 at the moment. I think I have Beta 4 or 5 currently.

In the Hangouts app on the phone, there is a photo icon to access the Camera Roll, it's not working on my phone at the moment, it doesn't load up the pics, just has the spinning circle.
Do you have the photo icon in the Attachment section next to the message line?
