Halo: Nightfall First Look

Apparently, this takes place on the Halo from the first game. I wonder if they will get lost or die of boredom after entering the Library?

The trailer got me, I woulda otherwise been totally skeptical.

Halo: Nightfall introduces a pivotal new character, Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth’s most powerful and secretive military branch. When he and his team are caught in a horrific biological attack, they unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artifact, where they will be forced to fight for their survival, question everything, and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives.

Taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Halo: Nightfall is Locke’s origin story which will lend insight and understanding into the character he becomes in Halo 5: Guardians.

This looks very cool, I had never heard of it prior to this article.

Why is there not a feature length film already of Halo?

While both Halo: Forward Unto Dawn and now Halo: Nightfall are both episodic in their releases, they were both created as long movie formats then broke up. So that is pretty close to being a movie.

Looks good. Could use a filler until RvB starts back.

You know we're 11 episodes into season 12 right? New episodes are currently "airing" weekly.
And RWBY just started season 2, today I believe.:D

Gotta love Rooster Teeth. All the way back when they did the Drunken Gamer "Hi, I'm a Mac gamer" skit I was laughing my tail off, so glad they started doing RvB, perfect people for the job.

Any one notice at the end when the red mountain came up against the background it kind of looked like the castle against the night thing Disney does? Maybe I'm just crazy, but it looked and felt like it to me.

At first glance I thought this was a video game, and got surprised and excited about the graphics... then discovered it's a series... still looks cool though and I'm not a Halo fan.

Thanks!
Just wasted the afternoon looking at it but it's Sysadmin day!

You're welcome!
The long waits between seasons with no real announce dates until its about to happen makes me forget sometimes myself. Heck I forgot until we hit episode 10 of this season!

The proposed budget was too high so it got scrapped. I think they asked for $200 million to make the movie and investors got cold feet.

that could be. From my understanding, and it was front page news a couple years ago before Forward unto Dawn, it basically boiled down to creative control and royalties. Basically: 4 major studios, sony is one so of them, so that leaves 3. Those three pretty much wanted to screw microsoft over by getting the most profit and having the creative control. Microsoft said uh no.. its ours and no reason for you to earn most of the project and/or ruin something you didnt create. This is also the reason why marvel created their own Entertainment division to develop their properties for TV/Theater. Also the reason why spiderman couldnt have been in Marvel avengers. Sony still owned the rights to Movie spidey.

You should keep up with their other stuff and then that isn't an issue. :) Day 5 starts up here soon also. would almost expect that to be after RvB ends its season otherwise they would have three different scripted series going at once. Same goes for some new western series they created.

Think they start talking about the new season's start date about 3 or more months out on the site and on their podcast. They started releasing teaser videos about 2 months out that had audio logs from various characters. So there was a lead up to the series.
