Does anyone know where I can find a driver for this under Windows 8.1? I've installed the latest series 9 chipset inf update, but the SM Bus Controller is still listed as having no driver. Does anyone else have this issue on a z97 motherboard? Otherwise the system seems to be working fine.

stick your cd in, and do a driver update and point it at the root of the cd drive.

check off subfolders, and Windows will search the whole cd drive.

That cleaned up the unkown device I had on Z97-Deluxe...it installed the AMDA00 Interface Driver from the disk. I usually download the latest drivers and install from those, but looks like one driver got missed that way.

No idea what AMDA00 does.

Its the Assus Com service device.

It allows realtime communication with the Bios.

I did end up finding a driver someone else found on another forum. Of course, I installed it, but should probably run a virus scan now, lol (though I did scan the entire directory before installation and it was clean).

It's odd, the SMBus Controller only showed up as missing a driver after I updated from 8 to 8.1, it was fine under my initial install of vanilla Windows 8.

Would you mind posting the driver that worked?

I am having the exact same issue -- Z97X-SLI, just upgraded from 8 to 8.1, and now I've got the SM Bus showing up without a driver. Fresh install of the chipset drivers, couldn't find it on Windows Update, couldn't find it on my motherboard's DVD, etc. Don't really know what else to do, and I'm not seeing it anywhere online after extensive searching.

I don't have anywhere to post it myself, but here's the link to the post on tweaktown with the link to the driver.

Next time I install windows what I might try is waiting to install all the chipset drivers AFTER I upgrade to 8.1 and see if that helps. I had installed the Intel INFs after installing 8 and then upgraded to 8.1 (and trying to reinstall the Intel INFs after updating to 8.1 didn't help . . . in fact it looked like the Intel executable did absolutely nothing).

Thanks a ton, man! The setup file said it only ran on Intel chipsets (???) but pointing Device Manager at that folder did the trick.

you guys are over thinking it..

its an ASUS device...just use the CD...

We're discussing a Gigabyte motherboard so I'm not sure what you're talking about. The drives on the CD and on the Gigabyte website are nothing but the Intel INF update package anyway . . . which isn't solving there problem.

Intel has two INF installers now.

Dear All,
Please install the ME driver.
Before install the Intel ME driver you need to download latest Netframework 4.5.
So install first your lan chipset then connect to internet.
Then download latest Net framework version 4.5 from website.
