Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

What level are you? There are very few people playing under 70, especially campaign mode.

only 66 right now :(, just got RoS yesterday.

Are people just limiting their games to 70 and over, or the multi-player just does not let you join games with people of higher level or lower than you?

I think it limits to people around your level. Once you hit level 70 it should have a few more games to join.

Paragon 221 isn't too high, and I wouldn't know how long he has or hasn't played the game.

By playing normally I hit paragon 221 pretty quickly when RoS hit, granted I don't play HC because I don't see the point of it (my opinion :))

"By playing normally" I'm assuming you mean hours every day.

Coming from someone who has a full time job, an 8 month old son, and has been in the process of selling my home, moving to another state, and buying another house, I can tell you that paragon 221 in HC is QUITE a bit of time. ;)

You're the exception and not the norm ;). Also, I don't play HC and that could very well be a high lvl in HC.

I hit 221 without playing "hours" every day; I played for on average 2 hours? a day when RoS hit, my IRL friends and I had really good group composition and we tore through a lot of stuff quickly.. I did take advantage of the easy levelling at the time before things got nerfed. Then my barb was strong enough to do T6 bounties cause I lucked out and found my earth set Pre-RIF days (Which I have yet to do any of). 65 million xp per hand in was sweet, sometimes 180 mill per game creation within minutes (quest hand in only, not counting the exp i get from clearing them).

I also have a full time job which I work for longer than 8 hours a day. I'm an Engineer and 8 hours a day is not the norm, try 10+.

But then again, priorities. I don't need to move to another province (I'm from Canada) so there are things I don't need to worry about. I also spend a lot of my time with my S.O.

I do admit lately I have been hardcoring it whenever I can. I want to hit the top 20 on paragon level in america before I quit. Doing some malth runs whenever, and hopping on my barb to do some bounties.

Game limits matchmaking to same level players, otherwise lower level players are at a disadvantage.
If you want to play with higher level enemies, you have to join a friends game that is using a higher level character.

Yeah, most people in HC can't just jump into T6 and farm experience - of course you can shave off tons of time cashing in huge exp bounties and not caring if you die. There's like one person in my clan that plays more than I do (SC) and he's at 413...I don't buy that 200's are "the exception".

Heh, thing is the leapquake barb with unity was pretty rigged. I never died once, since my templar was taking a lot of the dmg away.

Again, I play SC and not HC. All my friends on my friends list started from scratch in RoS and are well beyond 200's without playing hours everyday. They play every other day due to work as well.

I guess we agree to disagree. I tend to make characters that can survive T6 and not just run in and die ;).

On weekends when I have free time I do hardcore the game though, and have abused malthael for exp. My brother has stopped playing the game so I just have his guy hold the checkpoint while I kill him over and over. Not the funnest but at about 187 - 241 million exp per 30 seconds, thats pretty good :)

I would say that's the main cause. I'm at 264 and play on average 1-2hrs/day most of the time with AMD T-Type. We spent the most time on T1, only moving to T2 and T3 after the last patch that buffed T2 rewards. My hardcore DH could probably do T4 pretty easily, I could probably survive T5 (but no idea about efficiently clearing it). I tend to take my time moving up to the next level.

edit: Also I don't do rif or a lot of bounties where you get the most exp. All the rifts I do are full clears.

Yep, and thats why I said it could very well be because its in HC. In SC people blast by the 200's pretty quickly :p.

I've always had unity on regardless so when I party, we all shared the damage and just faceroll everything.

On a side note, my friend is level 501 paragon in HC. He's lost a few characters but keeps on trucking.

and now level 69, only played a few hours so far and some good stuff has dropped, i think?

Heading in a better direction now? more toughness and strength, dropped vit/dex

Someone said though i should not be able to have Wrath of the Berserker and Call of the Ancients?
He was unable to set both Skills for his barb

A bit better but the goal is to still replace all that gear starting at Level 70.

You should probably go back to a WW/HotA build for now. Leap and Earthquake aren't great until you get Might of the Earth set and Lut Socks boots.

If that person can't use WotB and CotA at the same time then he/she doesn't have the free elective skill option selected.

Also did you join the [H] guild?

ANDDDDDDDDD my hardcore crusader just died.... FML. been playing it since day 1 of RoS.... O well.

Welcome to the club. But you saved all your good backup equipment right? Should only take a couple hours to get back to 70 with some powerleveling.

Me and tge hard clan were figuring how long it took me to clear a babe rift. I was a bit to eager on a large pack

I couldnt get out, so i took a screen, i knew my death has arrived

RIP Illdiefast

Sorry I don't have all the time in the world to play. Was my 1 and only hardcore toon :(

Appreciated!

i just hit 70! woo hoooo!

Will get into the [H] guild, friend asked me to join his clan the other day, but only 1 or 2 of them are ever on.

Today I remembered why I don't put too much time into hardcore. So I have the 4th set bonus for the firebird set, and it glitched out. Revived me but I couldn't move, just kept losing health and then when I was revived I couldn't accept it. All I could do was leave the game, we were about 80% done with the rift too. Shit like this is why I'm glad I play regular mode, I would hate to get punished for something that is out of my control.

As a side note, wtf is up with all the noobs playing T1 and T2? Seems like almost every other game half of them are AFK or they just plain suck, doing literally zero damage. I think I'm just gonna go back to playing solo or with HOCP members.

Thanks. I hadn't played since the last few patches so I found my sader is quite the badass now. She has about 17.3 million toughness and still about the same dps or even more as my barb.

Looks like you have way too much life vs damage.
I was reading an article about setting up your character and they mentioned having a lot of life affix's doesn't help you out as much as having affix's that increase your damage.
You can take a beating but you end up fighting for a long time since your damage is low.
this is my second Crusader that I leveled up,
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Zepher-1253/hero/48484630

I did a test with one of my characters and added a shit ton of resist, over 1200 on everything, and she was nearly indestructible but took forever to kill an elite pack. I have the set that resists stuff on the ground,
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Zepher-1253/hero/48061288

The main stats to have, from what I am told, are Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage, so I try and always have a large green socket in my weapon.

Yes, but also, for a sader, cooldown timers are a must as well!

If you're taking Prophet rune for Akarat Champ, you don't need much resist at all.

If you're not playing hardcore, you really don't need that much toughness. I mean your toughness to damage ratio isn't that great, although for hardcore it would probably be OK. (I don't like hardcore only because it seems to slow your progress down more). My current wizard build isn't even that great for higher torment levels, but I haven't actually died once with it unless you count that stupid firebird bug.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Krieg1337-1699/hero/10289552

I did just get a cinder coat and played around with on of my magefists. Also got a mirrorball with +2 missiles, so I think I'm gonna try that build out again.

Most of my geared HC characters seem to end up around a 2:1 main stat to VIT ratio. Adding more VIT is generally the easiest way to inflate your toughness score but I'd only do that once you feel you have your resists/armor in a good place. There's no reason to have 800K life and 230K DPS, and that character isn't even a HC character anyway.

OT: it amuses me greatly that you have only one HC character at paragon 37 and it's wearing the rarest belt in the game lol. That's the kind of RNG that causes meltdowns on the forums haha!

Yeah, my friend has found like 10+ thunderfurys, I haven't found a single one. I just got a mirrorball yesterday from kadala, and just found another one. It's like the game enjoys trolling us.

This game is getting ridiculous. They actually redeemed themselves and the game plays pretty well in my opinion.

However the drop rates are still just stupid. I have opened 250 bounty bags and no RROG. Not a single SOJ has dropped for me.

Thunderfury? anything elite.. nope. All I get is Justice Lantern and Blackthorns over and over.

They need more focused farming runs so you can find the gear you need (loot tables of were things will drop). That or put trading back into the damn game, there was no reason to take it out in the first place.
