Help, Windows 7 update Error Code 800B0100

So not that the cause really matters, but i had a external hard drive transferring video files with my OS and i cancelled it but it never truly canceled and at the same time was running the new update (like 10 "important" updates showed up a few days ago) and i cancelled that too and it too wouldnt truly cancel. So i restarted my PC.

Now when i try to update these 8 things, i get "Failed" and the error code: 800B0100.

3-Sec Update for .Net Framework 3.5.1
4-Security Update for Windows 7 for x64 based Systems
1-Update for Windows 7 for x64 based systems.

I have tried the system update readiness tool and that changed nothing. I have tried the Net framework cleanup tool and that changed nothing. Same with the windows update trouble shooter. ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956702 )

So what do i do? Is this my last option before a clean install?

If all of the steps above yielded no results, the next logical step is to perform an InPlace upgrade.
An in-place upgrade is the final alternative before you have to reinstall the operating system.
Note that it takes the same amount of time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. Also, some of your customized Windows settings may be lost through this process.
How to perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Performing a repair installation will restore the current Windows installation to the version of the installation DVD. This also requires the installation of all updates that are not included on the installation DVD.

Note Performing a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

To perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, follow these steps:
1. Close all the running applications.
2. Insert the Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 DVD in the computer's DVD drive.
3. In the Setup window, click Install Now.
Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then type Drive:\setup.exe in the Start Search box.


And so this says it wont effect my programs and all the things i have on my OS...is that true?

Can you give me more details as to what you mean? And if you mean my issue with it not stopping, thats done with that was a few days ago. What i need is a fix so the updates will install like they are supposed to.
 
Try clearing out the Windows update cache.

Open up a command prompt in administrator mode and run these commands:

net stop wuauserv
cd /d %windir%
rd /s SoftwareDistribution
net start wuauserv

Then go back into Windows update. IT will tell you that Updates have never been installed. This is expected.

Now check for updates and install them.

Post back whether or not it fixes it.

run that, it will take a bit, after you run that, you need to go to %Windir%\Temp\CheckSUR

look for %windir%\logs\cbs\checksur.log

open it, and it will tell you what has been corrupted. You will need to find the KB number and download that update, extract the files. After you extract the files, you will need to put them in

%windir%\Temp\CheckSUR\servicing\packages directory

after you have done that, rerun the system readiness tool (may take a while)

There ya go!

Ok im trying this. While running the Windows Readiness Tool it asks if i want to install the Hotfix for Windows, do i?

Because i have run it before i searched that %Windir...etc and found:

Among a lonnnnnnnnnng list of things, it says:

And what do you mean check the KB number and download that update? Im not seeing anything like that.

if it says you have 246 errors, you have a lot of files that are corrupted. you need to look at checksur.log

the erros will look like that, see where it says KB. you need to download those, extract the files. put them in %windir%\Temp\CheckSUR\servicing\packages directory


windir, c:\windows\temp thats the windir.
 
I think there are so many errors because 1) None of the 8 important updates will install..so all of them get a error. And 2) it looks like there are duplicates, by that i mean i have tried to install them so many times that they record as errors over and over, instead of just showing up once.

But still this looks annoyingly time consuming and semi complicated.
