Tired of Diablo 3, no group to play Day-Z with.

Action, RTS, FPS, doesn't matter to me... I have just had a hard time finding a worthy game lately.

Suggestions?

Tribes Ascend and Americas Army are good if you got steam. There both FREE :)

I finally started Terraria last week. (after owning it since it came out..)

Pretty addicting overall.

Oh, and it has to be an eyefinity capable game.. I don't know if Tribes Ascend is any good with it now, but the beta didn't work with it.

Do you need mulitplayer?

I've been playing Just Cause 2 recently and I'm having a blast.

Also if you like ARPG type games you should really Check out Path of Exile, its better in many ways than Diablo 3.

Have you tried the Walking Dead series? There's only 2 "episodes" out so far, but it's a solid 4-5 hours of story.

Batman: Arkham Asylum + Arkham City?
Max Payne 3?
Skyrim?

Deus EX: Human Revolution
Fallout New Vegas
Crysis 2 (?)
Alan Wake

Hope this list helps:

Aliens Vs. Predator (Usually cheap on Amazon or Steam)

Battlefield 3

Dead Space
Dead Space 2

Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3 (Yes even despite the shitty endings.)

Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham City

Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Hard Reset

Max Payne 3

The Darkness II

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition

Starcraft 2

Transformers: War for Cybertron

Another vote for Max Payne 3 - plus it's 1/2 off right now. It's probably the most polished game out at the moment, and it's shockingly harder than most everything else out there...especially if you don't spam the bullet-time.

the mass effect trilogy is decent although the first is far superior to the sequels in my opinion they are all enjoyable.

The first one has awkward game mechanics and isn't a very good shooter. The story aspect of it is certainly stronger and it's the least linear. However most of the missions are literally cut and pastes of one another excluding the critical story missions. The Mako exploration is repetative and boring. Mass Effect 2 is weaker story wise but in some ways outshines the previous installment in character interactions. It also manages to handle an enormous amount of characters well and the missions have considerably more variety to them as do the enemies. It is also by far the longest of the 3 and the DLC is actually worth having. It's also a decent shooter. Mass Effect 3 is by far the best shooter of the three but autodialog for some characters, shortened game play and a ridiculous final act make it a weaker installment in the trilogy. It is also much more linear than the others.

I enjoyed all three games overall for different reasons. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.

STALKER series, although I am not sure whether the first two work with eyefinity. I believe COP does, at least with the complete mod it does.

Yeah...the three Mass Effect games are all oddly flawed. Whenever they'd fix one thing, they'd break another.

Pretty much.

I liked the inventory system in ME1 wayy more than in ME2(didn't play ME3 yet, but I heard it's more or less the same as ME2).

But I like how the side quests aren't the same thing over and over again. That was awful in ME1.

The inventory system in ME1 sucked ass. There was no categorization of items. Duplicates didn't stack. Fuck it didn't even sort them alphabetically. Just about every single thing they could have done wrong with the inventory system was done. And you couldn't see what anything looked like without equipping it first. Weapon customization was fine, but the interface could still have been better.

ME3 works like ME2 did only in that you don't have a traditional inventory system like ME1 did. You obtain things by picking them up and then they are always available afterwards. So picking up a sniper rifle barrel upgrade allows it to be duplicated on all sniper rifles in inventory. Picking up one weapon makes it available to everyone. In ME2 there were some weapons only Shepard could use. In ME3 you do have weapons upgrading and customization as you did in ME1. There are 10 levels of upgrades for each weapon as there were in ME1. You can only reach level 5 on any weapon in your first playthrough. Each weapon now has two modular slots which can equip the various upgrades you have available for that class of weapon. Mods now change the look and functionality of the weapons far more than they did in ME1. In fact changing the looks of a weapon in the game through mods is unique to ME3.

Essentially it's a hybrid approach. They kept the weapon customization of ME1 and expanded upon it but got rid of the rest of the bullshit that ME1 had just like ME2 did.

Side quests were shit in ME1 because the levels / maps were reused assets over and over again with subtle variation. Many of them had their own unique story lines. Some of which actually get brought up again in ME3. So stories were unique but the missions were all essentially cut and pastes of 3 or 4 different maps. In Mass Effect 2 side missions were all varied and they had their own sub-plot which tied them all together off the main story line. They were completely optional but worth doing for the upgrades and XP. In Mass Effect 3 the side missions tie into the main story. But it's peripheral. An example would be disabling the fighter defenses on Noveria and taking over a Cerberus base in order to disrupt Cerberus operations in that area and give the Alliance an advantage. That's about it. Basically all these side quests (labled N7 missions) are you doing a handful of console hacks or item pick ups while fending off two to three large waves of enemies in the multiplayer maps. That's literally what they are. Only the Benning mission has anything of any substance tying it into the regular game that I can think of. You have to obtain the dog tags from a dead soldier in the streets and then take them to a grieving father on the Citadel. You get story like intros and conversations with Admiral Hackett after each mission, but they are pretty generic.

There are actually fewer missions in ME3 than there were in ME2. Side quests aren't as much fun. Main story quest missions are fairly long though and are all excellent save for the last one. There are some great moments in these missions. Some of the best in the entire trilogy. Squad mates are more talkative on missions and they've got more personality while on mission than they used to. They also each have different relationships with one another for some added entertainment. Liara and Javik seem to argue a lot, Garrus and Vega are competative, Javik and Vega joke back and forth, etc. Straight up game play and shooter mechanics are the best in ME3. Combat is faster, Shepard is more capable, etc. Customization of armor is improved. Squad mate outfits now give them different bonuses as well so that's interesting to play with. AI for enemies is generally better in ME3 than it was in ME2 but the enemies are far less variable than they were in ME2. However there are some harder enemies to deal with in ME3. Atlas, Brute and Banshee all come to mind as particularly challenging depending on the circumstances and the amount of them you face at one time.

I've got about 1,000 hours now between all three games. Mass Effect 1 is the game I enjoyed the least. All of which is strictly due to the game play and shooting mechanics. Story wise I loved the first game but I wouldn't have been able to finish it, much less replay it without that.

Sweet, I hated that you couldn't really customize your guns in ME2

I forgot about Arkham, the first one was a lot of fun.

Walking Dead looked interesting. Is it third person? I need to watch some gameplay.

Darkness 2 looked interesting, I don't think it supports Eyefinity. Maybe it does, there was some reason I didn't give it a second look.

Is Tribes like the originals? My Dad, brother and I used to play constantly. In fact if it is, I might be able to get at least Dad back into it.

How about games that would run on this for when friends are over or I am at work? Should be upgrading soon. Worked well for D3.

The menus are broken in Eyefinity and the game doesn't support it well. I had to run it in a windowed mode to make it work, but the game did in fact work with the correct FOV at 7680x1600 for me.

I wish there was a good FPS or strategy MMO. I love games that make you interact with others. ARMA 2 and iRacing used to be all I played, everyone used voice comms and I think it really makes the games fun.

That's why I dislike Battlefield 3 so much. Looks amazing, gameplay is good, no VOIP for PC though? Completely ruined it. Well, that and no mods. Project Reality was awesome.

Seems like all of the realistic milsims are dead population wise.

If you like horror themed games, I'd recommend these:
Dead Space 2
Amnesia: Dark Descent <- Dare you to try this at night, haha

Running like a Bitch all the Time and Can't Fight Back <- Dare you to try this at night, haha

I fixed that for you.

I just don't find Amnesia scary. I really don't. I thought Dead Space 2 was scarier, and it was a pure action game.

I find not being able to fight back to be a shitty game mechanic.

I think the thing with the game is that you're a huge pussy who carries a lamp and hides in corners. Not an ideal situation, but it's the type of game that it is. I just didn't find it all that scary like some others.

To me, for truly scary games I enjoyed the hell out of the first Condemned.
It's pretty low-tech these days, and I think you need a Creative card to get surround...but man, that's a hell of a scary game with good headphones or surround sound. Plus, the plot's really cool, too.
I'm almost tempted to re-play it if I can find a surround hack that'll let me get 5.1.

I loved Condemned. Hell I might replay it as well. Did the second one ever come out on PC?

I don't think the 2nd one made it to PC. I played the demo on the 360 and something about it just wasn't "right." I never did end up buying it, although I bet it's super cheap these days.

I actually wanna say, try Spec Ops: The Line, its 50% off on Amazon right now, and it isnt a bad game, I bought it day 1 for full price, and I thought it was pretty frikkin sweet for full price, but for $30, its even better. Good Third person shooter, great SP.

Also, Warhammer: Space Marine also a good SP game and the MP isnt bad either.
