Crash problem??

Hi guys its the main rig in sig. Last night I was in a mw3 server waiting to rdy up and my screen went black and machine froze but stayed powered on. I had to do a hard restart. It ran ok after that but after the screen went black the monitor displayed a message saying no video.

Ideas? I have the cpu voltage set to 1.4 volts and it passed prime95 for 5 hrs. I ran memtest latest version on the ram kit and it made 2 complete perfect passes.

At this point I am wondering about the gpu, its a Gigabyte Windforce, which is running @ stock. I am running the latest drivers for the 570 296.10 as per the nvidia site.

This sounds dumb, but have you made sure that the monitor cable is securely plugged in?

That just means the computer was no longer sending an image (as opposed to sending an all black signal). Good news is that it probably wasn't the vid card. Not saying it wasn't. But most Vid card failures I have dealt with, when they go out, its been hard locks, artifact, or hard-locks with artifact. The bad news is it could be anything at that point, a driver crash, it could still be the vid card. Could be a motherboard issue. Could also be memory (though you said it seemed to pass, and memory failures usually show its head in BSOD's).

Have you checked the system and application logs to see if there is an error? Or the Reliability report?
 
well it was a hardlock forsure, the screen went blank and noting was working, hence the hard restart.

Sorry I meant with the picture on the screen. Most of the Video card related deaths have been with the picture on the screen stuck, picture on the screen going really really buggy, or both a locked picture that spazzed out. Now those are usually overheating issues, and issues with a card being more sensitive over use to the temps you would normally expect it to run at. The slow death of a card as it were. This could still be logic or electrical issue on the card. But can also be about 5-6 other devices, including Mobo. Anything in the system logs, that could at least tie it down to one or two devices?
 
well the card is 14 days old, never goes over 70c and isn't overclocked. I decided to jump and return it to my local shop and get the Asus radeon 7850 instead. If I spend days or weeks trying different drivers I will be stuck dealing with Gigabyte customer service and shipping expenses. This is free!
