3960X don't have those gay ass combos right?
have had a rampage 4 extreme sitting here since dec. i should of pulled the trigger last time they were in stock at new egg.
My C1 has ran flawlessly except for ESX which locked up at least 10x since running it with VT-d enabled on my C1. So the bug is very real. I was reading the Errata errors that are being corrected as well as other flaws that are being fixed in the C2 and guess what. 0.000000001% of it matters and that is VT-d. the rest will have absolutely ZERO impact on performance. These C2 chips are not going to mysteriously make 6ghz on low RPM air cooling. They are not going to have 2 secret MI6 spies included in the box, and they are not going to include a free Coke-A-Cola coupon with purchase either. They just fix VT-d so again if you have no need for heavily virtualized use I urge you to consider C1 because mine is working like a cherry other than VT-d.
Above Quoted- This is not at you. However your comment reminds me of something very much a reality to me at least.....
I got my 3930K when there were hundreds on sale the first week and NOOOOOOO ONE wanted one. Because the 2600K was smashing it in every way according to the "mainstream" on this website. No one will ever want or need PCI-e x40 lanes, or quad channel just isn't worth the cash, or etc... yada yada yada, this site's forums was one of the biggest ones on the net to facesmash the 3900 series into the ground. I even argued against these same people and got banned for 6 days because of it.
Now I am right, and everyone wants one, and guess what ... there are none to get. Again I will digress and agree that if you are not wanting VT-d then the C1 will work fine for you and you shouldn't wait on a C2 when a C1 is available to you just to be amazed you will be waiting again for several more months once the C2 is out of stock and you chose to wait.

I think I'm just gonna bite on the Amazon listing. Still can't justify the 1k tag on the 3960X.
If you're thinking that everyone wants the 3930K now and didn't want it before because everyone said it wasn't that good, you're pretty much wrong. There just is a shortage of stock because of the switch to the c2 stepping along with people not making shotgun decisions to buy into a new platform. In the end when you only have a small amount of stock to start with and no way to replenish that stock fast you of course get a build up of customers waiting for your product. There is basically just no stock out there. Most places like Amazon/Newegg/MicroCenter/Provantage don't have any and if if their site says they do, they're pre-orders.
I just snatched it at the Microcenter store in Va. I've been checking online regularly and this morning two showed up in stock. They went out right after I made my reservation. And yes, they're C2. One would wonder, what kind of tactic is that where a big retailer gets ~5 pieces at a time? Why would Intel send out small random quantities like that?
Viss 3930K C2...
Right now I'm not sure which is more worth it...a regular priced 3960X or a jacked up fucked up messed up 3930k from Amazon.

Paying $94 over normal retail for a 3930k is a lot better than paying an extra $450 for the 3960x but ordering from Amazon is pointless if it doesn't show it as in stock because you'll be waiting weeks for it to ship.
Well yeah but 1-2 months is a long time...
Hopefully on Monday 3930k shows up or at leat the fucking DCU II 7970. Come on!

Yeah, that one. Sorry. Sales guy said the truck had just come in when I picked it up. Stock on M-center's website is VERY accurate. Updated right after I ordered.Wow, the one on Nutley street? I was checking last night on their website and it showed nothing in stock. Jesus.
I really hoping that Newegg has them in stock this week.
And hopefully enough people complained that they decide not to continue requiring you to buy it as part of a combo to order one. I already have my motherboard and RAM so I don't need to order anything but the CPU.
Haha I got a free h80 with mine from microcenter. Because nooooooo one wanted one when they came out. Now look at the waiting list and no free h80 coolers lmao.
A rep at ServersDirect told me they would have them 2/24 from Intel. Newegg hopefully will some sooner.
I am concerned because I bought everything else, and now it is sitting waiting for the CPU.
