I feel they are listening. And it would do them good to do so based on how well Tribes Vengeance went over.

I can't draw any correlation between this and Vengeance. Ascend has a more blended feel to Tribes between new and old. I think they're doing a good job. I still play Tribes2 more though. ;)
 
Key bindings reset for me too but the last patch updated some of the config items.

It takes a long time to unlock all upgrades within a class and you probably want to do that before moving to a new class. The good news is by the time you unlock all the items you will probably have enough tokens to buy another class. The classes that are on sale or reduced price are the ones you will want to go for first. If you are impatient you will need to buy gold. I would mess with the class offline first before buying it. If you are short on time I suggest you unlock upgrades in the shortest path to get you to the perks. The perks will help you upgrade other classes faster / make them more useful.

I actually am very impressed with the thought that went into the default perks. They are great for new players. If you suck you get extra health and you also get energy since you probably also are not efficient at jets/ski yet.

Personally I used to hate this model but since playing BF3 I realize that we are going to get this model of unlocking in every game regardless of if we pay for it or not. For some reason people just like it. I would rather my skill be something I build up by learning to use stuff better. However if I am going to unlock and build junk up I should have an option to play for free. Paying and unlocking as in BF3 is a complete rip off.

BTW I stopped getting new beta keys I had 2 and did not give them out and now only have 1. So I guess 1 just dissappeared.

Projectile speed inheritance was actually one of the biggest complaints, and is why they added it.

The game is locking up on every 3rd or 4th map change, since the newest patch. Have to task manager and kill it.
Anyone else having this issue?

damn the microtransactions! Im so tempted to just foot the bill to buy new classes, but I refuse!

I cant tell what class I want to unlock, I dont see myself wanting to play anything but the soldier anyway!

Quick question to someone who knows, the class at the top right (cant remember the name), the guy who has the flag repeller ability, what is it and how does it work exactly?
 
The classes will be in different orders depending on what you have unlocked I am guessing you might be looking at doombringer?
If you are unsure but love tribes get the $30 package, it comes with 30 days of boost so you will level up faster and 3000 gold which you can buy whatever with whenever.

If you like soldier level him up completely first. By the time you do that you will have enough tokens to buy pathfinder, then level him and ranger up by the time you do those you can probably afford another 2 or so classes. This assumes no boost, if you have boost you will unlock classes faster than you can level them up and can save all your gold for who knows what when the game releases.

No some people probably have keys but for some reason they stopped giving them to me. Guess I gave out to many here lol.

Good game people. If you liked tribes or unreal tournament you will dig this. It doesn't suck.
 
Despite playing the 4 maps over and over in CTF, its very addicting and a lot of fun. There's nothing like skiing at 200 km/hr and grabbing the flag and eluding the enemies as they give chase. Also nothing beats the satisfaction of melee'ing someone from behind in one hit, especially snipers :)

Looking forward to the full release of the game. Hoping it come with a server browser, better friends system, stats, and clan support. And more maps.
 
Yeah, I'm definitely having fun with this game. I also read somewhere that they may implement a kind of system where different servers could have different rulesets, like faster speed, or no generators/turrets/etc. I also hope they add stat tracking, something like what was made for UT2k4.
 
You can choose to set it up any way you want. There are jump/ski binds, jump/jet binds, and separate jump, jet, ski

The thing is people are figuring out for various circumstances it is better to have individual control. If you are casual then dont worry about it, just bind 2 keys, 1 to jump/jet and one to jump/ski.

The tribes community is one of the most intense and involved communities you will ever encounter. So if you need tips those guys are putting up lots of videos even though there are nowhere near as many of them as some mainstream games like BF3.

For skiing you want to be moving on a downward slope as much as possible. Otherwise you should be using your jet pack to get over a hill and then using your momentum to slide again down the vertical slope.

The higher you get in the air before you fall down and the bigger the slope, the faster you will go.
