K water blocks no good?

Current (bought within the last 2 months or so) EK blocks are fine. People still dislike them because of the really bad PR/customer support; blaming end users and retailers for the problem, instead of admitting their fault and attempting to rectify the situation.

I'm using an EK block for my GPU and CPU. They keep my GPU temps unreal. I have my GTX 570 OC with 1.088V and it never goes over 47C running Furmark. I do not have much else to speak for as this is my first and only WC build but have had great luck with EK products.

how many rads u are using? what rad are u using as well as pumps?

All blocks perform more or less the same. There is no magic here; the construction is very similar. There may be one outlier in every batch for whatever reason, but what determines temps most is ambient, radiator size and thickness, fan RPM, and pump pressure, usually in that order.

ummmmm, wow

just read a bunch of that linked thread

I will be disassembling my HF supreme for inspection, it would appear there is in fact a problem with EK's plating

The RASA block performs very close to the EK HF, but the RASA is very constrictive while the HF allows much more water to flow through it. That is the main difference I would say, the amount of water that flows through them.

My EK blocks don't have issues, but then again these are over a year or even 2 old. Koolance I hear is good, aqua computer blocks seem good as well.

^ have you pulled your blocks apart and examined the plating?

Yeah. I took off the regular top(plexi is I think what it was) and added my White Acetal top so I would have seen the issues then, same with the motherboard block. They should be fine. My brother got his replated by Red Raider for $40 I think, looks much better than mine.

well, my fingers are crossed, I'm going to open the loop up in a few weeks...that thread does not look good, tons of pics of failing plating and obfuscation from EK...not good at all

If you do have the issue, consider RR's plating service. It is 100% worth the money. That guy does a flawless job on the plating.

Wrong. The Rasa is less restrictive than the EK HF.

The only block that could beat it in that test in terms of restrictiveness was the D-tek Fuzion V2. And the new Raystorm is even less restrictive while performing superior to the Rasa.
