It’s looking more like the wait to see who will buy Yahoo will be over soon. Yahoo has called a press conference for Monday with no topic announced. It is speculated that an announcement on the selling of Yahoo will be announced at that time.

The company is being mysterious about this event, and other than mentioning that its executive vice president Ross Levinsohn will be both speaking and taking questions

Since I am not a stockholder of Yahoo, it would be hilarious if, after all the Yang drama, Yahoo was sold to MS at a bargain bin price.

"On Wallstreet today, Micro Soft purchased Yahoo for a small Diet Pepsis and two, count them, two $.25 bags of potato chips."

Does this mean I am the last person with a Yahoo Plus mail account. Wonder if anything will happen to it, I terribly hate ads particularly Gmail ads :(

for anyone interested.. I'll also be holding a press conference... to discuss my sock drawer.. I expect a bigger turnout.. rofl

I very much doubt a sale to Microsoft. Microsoft wanted to buy Yahoo so they could spring board a new search service with a funny name. After Yang's antics a good number of Yahoo's better developers jumped ship to Microsoft - excellent pay, excellent signing bonus, CEO madness limited to throwing chairs once in while. Then Microsoft, with a few extra developers with experience in web search, created Bing. Then Yahoo, who for some reason had fallen on tough times, licenced Bing for their own search results.

Why does Microsoft want to buy Yahoo now, unless Yang has decided to sell Yahoo for less then the value of their office equipment would grab on eBay?

does anyone know where we can apply for a press pass to this event?

.......no no... the sock drawer one... no one cares about the yahoo one....

LOL i'll have to catch the video feed of this

You pay $20/year to avoid ads.....interesting. I for one prefer to have a mail host who doesnt keep my mail hostage.

Hook, line and sinker. Hate the ads all you want, but looks like you already fell victim to it ;)

All my mail is sitting on my external hard drive, not sure what you're talking about. As for me I will be watching this closely.

I think he means you pay $20 a year, like a moron, for no ads on your email page. :D

Seeing as Yahoo! just made a news deal with ABC my guess is The Walt Disney Company - they own ABC.

Edit: Dur that was what the press conference about. No one is buying Yahoo! yet.

I shall up my game by paying $120 a year for a Luxsci HIPPA email account.

How much is the opening bid for Yahoo, then I wouldn't have to pay for my email if I owned it?
