We have just started them again but are opting to give away parts rather than the whole box :)
Whilst it generates points and interest (new & old) its really just a good way to reward our wonderful members.

Perhaps for a vast team as this one here you may need a couple sets of rules to cater for the big ppd differences. May i also add who ever runs your competitions ... give them a medal .. they are hard work to organise and update each night (see the OP in our comp threads).

Anyway enough about us ... was really just popping past to share an idea that might help you secure some more ascendency over EVGA ;)

we used to do a giveaway program at amdmb (734) for a long time that we called "adopt-a-frog" and it was basically a frankenstein monster rig of different parts people donated. Sadly those dried up when basic CPU folding was completely overtaken by GPU's. A dead relic from the time when 1000 ppd was huge :(

the info is interesting and these giveaways clearly have a very big impact on both your teams.. its something to consider implementing over at our place

I'm one of those 15K guys now! I have my shiny new GTX 460 1GB folding :cool: Went from 9800GT and 8,500PPD to 17,000PPD! Hopefully I can get my other PC up and running, seems that the Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe has a bad BIOS chip in it....
 
As of 10 days ago, I have ramped to about 120-125k and might have another 20-30k coming online if a friend of mine can secure another i7-2600

 
I resumed folding albeit on a small scale, in april because I couldn't stand the idea of EVGA giving shit away to entice members.

I've seen some dead wood on the member list that have since jumped to EVGA just to get their hands on the evgabucks or whatever they call it...........poor form.

Anyway, 2 million points since April using two 285 GTXs and a Q9550,24/7.:cool:

I'm shooting for 4 million before I shut down for the heat in August, but if it isn't bad, I'll keep on truckin.

Wow damn, the overtake is now down to 1.6 years. Of course things will change starting tomarrow, but this is just damn impressive guys.

It is amazing how things have changed since you left. At that time, I don't think any of us thought that we'd have people on the team producing 1-2M ppd. Unbelievable what these fellow team members are putting out!

What is more amazing is that our output is pretty rock solid throughout specific time periods. So these new gains should hold, and most likely will increase with the way everyone is ramping...

Yes. The i7 is too much heat this time of year.....plus the HD6970s are crummy at folding.

My GTX 285s are on an open bench platform in the basement where it's always cool.

Oh come on! I've got both a Bloomfield and a Gulftown folding away in the guest room. Yeah the Bloomfields are fire breathers, but bigadv work units still allow them to be far more efficient than any GPU so far in terms of points per watt. Doesn't your son have an awesome gaming rig you can push him off of and borg? :)

At this time, unfortunately ATI GPU's just arn't worth folding on until something changes over at Stanford. Fortunately, they are still very good to game on.

lol, its only 39K ppd guys, but thanks

I always said I would cut over once I had a real machine, then I found myself screaming up the chart as the #2 producer on 45104. So then it was I would switch once I was in the top 100, then the top ten, about 24 over there now but I realized that there was no end to that game. Once I made top 10 I would have to stay there just to keep it. Checked team stats this morning and saw EVGA was green as a 33 conquest...its time.

Hey, does anybody know, can I just change team/username in FAHcontrol or do I have to get a new passkey??

You can change teams, but if you change username's, I believe you will need a new passkey.

Heh, welcome to the team! 39k ppd is very good production and something that many of these guys were dreaming of back in the days of the old classic work units.
