6850 or 5850

Ideally around $150.. can go up to $200.. Not a serious gamer but just want to have the power there just in case its ever needed.

That card you linked actually has a 10% code, making it $178AR.. not bad... It seems they keep changing promotions as I did see the $10 gift card yesterday for this card... Only question is if there are any reviews for this particular card as this one is non reference card. Thanks

I'll be getting this card delivered either Wed or Thur. At $179 AR I couldn't help it. I can't remember where, but others had good experience with it.

All these deals are killing me... I just saw that TD had the Sapphire 6870 for $169 AR.. and the gtx 460 is back in stock.. Which one to choose? HELP!!
 
I chose 6870 because of possible issues with the ASUS 460. I'm sure many people have that card without problems though so??? I'm willing to pay a couple extra bucks for the better stock 6870 performance because I don't OC video cards most of the time. If I was going to OC I would be looking at a card whose manufacturer covers OCing in their warranty. That would be different pricing for both models, with higher prices. So MANY options now days.
 
Someone should let the Tigerdirect rep know that the Sapphire 6870 thats on sale for $169AR has the model # 100314-2SR listed on the webpage, which I believe is the non-reference card. Yet the picture on the webpage is for the reference model (100314-SR). A little confusing. I'm not sure which card I would get if ordered. I would do it but I can't post in the Hot deals section as I'm a "noob".. lol.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of issues with the Asus 460. What kind of issues are there? Is there a link to where this is discussed?
 
It's not specifically the Asus 460 (standing up for them for a change),it's all 460s. There's a bizarre hardware incompatibility problems that effects certain motherboards seemingly at random. The general consensus seems it's worse on Socket 775.

Noooooooo.. Say it ain't so... I have a socket 775. I guess I'll have to look into this. Thanks for the heads up.
 
I would look into it cause the 460 is well known to have severe stuttering issues on socket 775
 
It's not as if it's the end of the world, buy an HD6850 instead, it's a better card anyway, on all counts.
