60gb SSD big enough for OS?

Title says it all, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a deal for a 60gb ssd, but I'm not sure it's big enough. I'd love to put WoW and my OS on an ssd, but if it'll fit just my OS I could deal. So, is 60gb enough for Windows 7 64bit ultimate?

I'd just tell you to turn off pagefile and hibernation if you can. Those eat up tons of space...

Leave pagefile on if you don't have enough RAM. I've got 6gb and so far haven't run into any problems by turning it off.

I never use hibernation, so I turned it off. (You have to manually turn it off through command line.)

On my 80gb drive, I've got Office, Photoshop + Acrobat, random software like Blackberry stuff and Zune, (so far) 1 game, etc. and I still have about 50gb free.

All of my media is linked (through my User folders) on my 1tb drive and most of those files don't touch my SSD.

Unless you plan on installing a ton more programs or like to play 5 games at once, then you should be fine.

My work comp is only running a 60gb SSD. I have a couple of games, full Adobe creative suite + Office, loads of textbooks and lots of other random software and I'm only using 30gb.

Window 7 will take up around 20 actually. 8G for page files and there were not much space left if you want to install a game or 2, i remember its 21G for WOW before i quitted last year. i would buy a 80 actually.

just installed my ssd today. 20gb gone already with just windows and drivers installed. page file is turned off :(

I would say give yourself 30gb for windows and the essentials, another 5 for office/productivity apps, and then use the rest as you wish.

My 60gig SSD is around 15% full with ubuntu maverick 10.10 installed with all the programs I use and a VM for windows XP with office + adobe CS

I was able to fit Windows 7 and four games (~8 GB per game) on my previous 60 GB SSD.

I run a 30gig in my netbook. Had a single 30gig in my main machine for a while. With a few modifications you can get a 95% fully functional Win7x64 in right around 5GB space. Then you can enable compression on top of that. :)

Run two 30's in my machine now and it's enough. If I find I need more space I just install the progs on HDD array. Looking forward to the next gen of SSDs. :D

ok so best thing here is to get a utility called spacesniffer. google it, DL it, then run it. it will show you visually the usage of your drive. best damn utility out there for this.

Great app. I used to use BulletProof Folders but this is much faster and free. :D
