For those of you out there that are in a relationship (and would like to stay in one) I advise you not to pull this stunt. Trust me, while this is good for a laugh, I guarantee you that she won't think it is as funny. Thanks to Edward Cabarles for the laugh at his expense.

I'm not sure I get it, either. Are there not any females who'd rather get Best Buy merchandise instead of a ring? The amount of credit on that gift card should make a difference, too, and I don't know what it is becuase I'm one of those bastards who rarely reads the linked article.
 
Yeah I mean if that's a $5000 gift card I don't think there'd be too much argument from a lot of gals.

Ring represents lifetime of commitment.

Your salary - say: $100,000 year * 60 years = $6 million

If you put *that* on a Best Buy gift card, sure, maybe that would be of equal value. I...uhhh...don't think Best Buy lets you put that much on the card.

Yeah, pics made my nuts hurt seeing it, too...that...just....OWWWWW.

I'm not saying that if the girl was expecting to get married that the BB card would be the best gift, I'm just saying that some girls like stuff as much or more than guys.

BTW, if you put it in a bling box, it damned well better be real bling.

Yeah, but the point is - a BB gift card can be the right present for the right girl, but a ring is ALWAYS better.

Don't put it in a ring box, unless it's a ring. All the way up to the ring box, it was a funny joke. THAT makes it balls-hurting-ouch. You don't do that.
 
Ooooh, man. And I bet it's only for $20, too.

This year, I'm doing the opposite. My wife lost her wedding ring a few years ago. It was a custom design by a small local jewelry designer, so I wasn't able to get it replaced. This year, though, apparently the design went mass market; so I got her a replacement for only $400. And it has a bigger diamond than the original! (We were both unemployed at the time.)

I'm putting it in a box for a computer mouse. She has no desire for a mouse.
 
Heh I did something similar tonight. I gave her an empty box with some quarters taped underneath the ring box lid (to give it some weight to trick her).... but while she was putzing around with the quarters figuring out what was going on, i was on one knee with the real ring.

Haha agreed. Techy women wouldn't mind a BB giftcard, but don't wrap it with a ring box LOL

I pulled a stunt similar to that last year....only it was just a note to go make me a sammich.

she laughed, and said make it yourself.

we're still married, so I guess I'm in the clear.

Thats what my stepfather got my mother. He got her a really nice expensive one. She had been wanting a new vacuum so she was very happy.
