And BTW if you do need some TIM if you'll post your results I can get you a free sample of ICD just PM me your name, email, and address.

Nice of you to offer the samples of ICD, I'd like to grab one of those if its possible. Always looking for some better material to help with heat xfer. I'll send you a PM with the required info ASAP.

Ax

Whatever one you choose we give out a large sample you may be able to do more than 1 or even all of them. It really works well on GPUs too not just CPUs.

Hi guys just joined today from EVGA and let me tell you He was a great member over there and he will be a great member over here too. Also, i joined the [H] folding team :)

Welcome to all the defectors ;). I'm sure you'll have no trouble making yourselves at home here, especially since our mods don't shove the TOS into your faces every ten minutes :p.

I don't fucking know what has been going on lately but both Jebo and Zero have recently been banned. I hope it is only PMS and not signs of things to come. Something however is afoot!

for stuff outside of the DC section. we are our own world within the forum. unless some one reports a post/thread then its mostly governed by Flecom.

Thanks I am glad to be aboard!

I still have a few boxes down that I have to bring back up. They are being upgraded to water cooling. So I won't be full stride for another week or so. But I was doing 5.5+ mil PPD a month before I shutdown and started back. I am hoping to top that this time. And to bring some folders over with me as well I recruit new folders all the time. And BTW if you do need some TIM if you'll post your results I can get you a free sample of ICD just PM me your name, email, and address.

awesome to hear, and welcome. I might take you up on that offer once I finish piecing together a full blown water setup

btw wtf Jebo and Zero have been banned??? temp or perma?

temp. for crap outside of the DC section of the forum. thats what happens when ya decide to play with the forum troll's.

Welcome Falcon_CMH, I am sure you will fit right in. Also, welcome to the others as well

please ....lets not feed the trolls....:(

instead lets welcome the new members to our team... :D

Falcon no matter what may have taken place we shall still be friends. I still better see the build pics coming. That beast is a sure true master piece! :)

I was searching google for tips about overvolting in MSI afterburner and what shows up but Falcon_CMH answering my question nicely in a thread on EVGA forum. 6k posts in 21 months is pretty hardcore.

I think this thread should start going in the direction of this image :p:

And to balance out the hippy vibe from that picture:

Now, where were we?

+1 hardware pr0n is always welcomed, ignore the trolls, their acts speak louder then words.

not much, not even worth repeating

i'll im sure its worthless. but that edit by Flecom just add's a little mystery to what was originally there :D lol

lol flecom i have no plans to get it started again. damn you and your ninja edits :(

Welcome to the team, your output is appreciated despite the two spots lower I will be in the rankings ;)

IC 7 is great stuff, particuarly over 60-70C where AC 5 just gets exponentially worse. I dropped 15C on my GTX280 (when it had the stock cooler) and 6 C off my shuttle proc after switching from AS 5. The impact of a temperature shift that large when the machines are folding nonstop is huge.

15C ?!

I must get some of this stuff!

I carry no weight over here, prolly not much over at EVGA either, but just want to post this.
Best of luck here, Falcon. I truly hope you find this to be a happy home away from home.

To all the visitors here from EVGA, please try to leave the past over there. Everyone deserves the advantage of a fresh start. What didn't work out over there, might never be an issue here. Please let the past stay in the past. Let Falcon's new team give him a warm and memorable welcome.

Certainly glad to see your input rcranfield. This was essentially what I was saying before all the remarks started flying.....

...now, back to our regularly scheduled programming! :D

Yes I couldn't believe it either but I reapplied the AS5 6 or 7 times to try and get the temps under control and saw that change on the first application of IC7. The difference seems biggest on GPU's or really hot processors, its usually a few degrees better until you ramp past like 65-70C and AS5 really starts to suck. I haven't compared it to other pastes like MX or Freeze but I researched extensively before I bought it (I was tired of reseating my GTX 280 lol) and the only thing that really competed was liquid metal which is dangerous to use.

The other nice thing is the application method, you just put a frozen pea sized blob on the gpu and make sure you have real solid heatsink retention (I think all modern gpu's do) and it does the rest.

Welcome to all the defectors ;). I'm sure you'll have no trouble making yourselves at home here, especially since our mods don't shove the TOS into your faces every ten minutes :p.

I'll take an opportunity to comment. EVGA is a business and is used as such to discuss products. It's geared that way. Members are free to come and go as they please and we do have an established community where people frequent on a daily basis. Many members have "Homes" at different forums.

Generally speaking as to not single out any persons that feel the TOS is is too strict or thrown into the faces of our members, it is a business unlike many other forums. The code of conduct has been well thought out as to service not just the enthusiest population but the people who are customers. This includes men, women, and children. We do try to provide a safe atmosphere to all those who visit. We also discuss as moderators and work very closely with management on the decisions we make before we issues any sort of warning. Please read the TOS over there. What in that list seems unfair? We have a disclaimer that anyone who joins the EVGA forums agrees to the TOS before they use it. If people agree to it, then they should have no problem following the guidlines. It's there to protect the integrity of the forums and it's there to protect all members equally so that information can be shared without personal attacks, SPAM and profanity - to mention a few. Who wouldn't want to be a part of a community where you won't be made to feel inferior to another? We try the best we can to respond to complaints.

I wish any member well that chooses to fold, to interact, and to be a member of a community other than ours. I don't necessarily speak for EVGA. I only speak for myself and what I have observed over the years.

The TOS at evga aren't that hard to follow, just keep it civil. I am a bit miffed about why my second post got deleted, I just stated I did not intend to troll, I was just upset at the time. But oh well, I will agree with rcranfield, everybody deserves a fresh start :).

Well this is not like I left the EVGA forum like everyone seems to make it out. I have chosen to use the EVGA forum for my products only that I currently own. I chose to change my folding team, where my new build will be at, where I buy new products, and my main forum contributions etc.

The reason I did that was I felt EVGA chose to not follow their own TOS, not fairly enforce the TOS, and actually had someone supoosedly from upper management contact me and censor me on the EVGA forums. I was told if I post anything negative about EVGA on the EVGA forums they would ban me. Or if I posted and said who contacted me on the EVGA forums they would ban me. He even had the gull to ask me to go post something nice about EVGA which I declined and said I already do that on a daily basis. The voting scandal for the Chimp Challenge was just the branch that broke the camel's back. I cannot continue to support a community and/or company that behaves in this manner its that simple.

But as a owner of EVGA products I still have the need for the forum. And I have 100s of friends over their of people I colaborate with and help and get help from on a daily basis.

But also I look very forward to gaining 100s of friends over here too that I can colborate with and help and get help as well.

I no longer intend to tie my main forum where I hang out to a company that sells products. I feel that is the wrong environment for me after trying that out. I think forums outside of companies that do not have numbers to achieve based on product sells is where the richer environments are of opportunity to colaborate, help, and get help lies for me.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes and I am excited to call [H] my new home. My new build will be moving over here shortly.

it was deleted because all the posts before it were deleted, so it would have been kind of random/out of place... if you have an issue with something in this forum please feel free to PM me about it

A must read. Highly erotic. 200+ ppd. 4 PSUs, full WC SR-2 and 4x GTX 580, 12 deltas on rads, waterfall, QDC fittings, crazy pump
The case is what this build is really about, It has a beautiful waterfall in the WC Loop. It has a fish tank, sand design tank, serious control panel with a thump print lock to unlock it to gain access to the entire system controls. The control panel has a monitor, speakers, power buttton, military case lock/unlock switch, and duckbill switches for all the lights, servos that control doors, and accesseries. I am the designer and have engaged a guy named Richard who I think is one of the best case designer/builders to build the case for me.
