New Silverstone FT02

Set mine up this week. Put in a couple of AP's and a Noctua 120mm up top, the temps are improved over my P182 but it's not as quiet. Full gpu load on a 5970 is around 50C or at quiet fan speeds it's just under 60C. The loudest part of the case is the PSU fan, at idle it sticks out when everything else is very quiet. I use a Scythe fan controller to keep all fans at 50%.

So that is what - about 15-20% of the PSU fan being covered over? That might introduce a lot of air turbulence which could increase noise. Do you hear the psu at all above the video card when idling?
The fan sits about 0.5" - 1" higher than the vent in the case

Well, I have a Corsair AX850 that has a variable fan, so at idle the fan tends to not be turning at all anyway. I've definitely never heard it over the benign sound of the three 180mm base fans.

Pretty much the cleanest watercooling setup i've seen with the ft02. Give me more pics!!
OK

Truly amazing!!! What are the temps???
Phenom II X6 1090T OC 4.2 MHz Idle 37 Fulload 59 no air.

That's exactly now it should be done. I thought about doing that months ago but I switched cases.
What is the longest GPU your can fit? Are the fans strong enough to pull air through that rad?
I used the GTX480 length from the top 27 cm. Remaining length from the end of the fan card to 2.5 cm. I'm a fan around the low 1500 rpm. I feel that wind power is not enough, I will turn 2000 rpm up.
Sorry, I typed in English is not good.

Can anyone post photos of an EVGA E760 Classy installed in an FT02? I'm thinking of using the FT02 as my new base of operations, replacing my aging TJ03.

Will an EVGA E760 Classy even fit in a FT02?

Great, thanks - picking up an AX850 today or tomorrow before a rebate runs out and plan to put it in an FT02 case for upcoming build (waiting a few weeks for Sandy Bridge and AMD 6800s)....

I'm definitely going to replace my week old HX750 for a AX850, the fan is too loud with every fan in the case shut off I can still hear the damn psu fan with a ticking like sound. I can make the AP181's silent but not that psu fan.

wow, if I ever watercool the FT02, I want a list of those parts you used in that pic with the red tubing. Niiiccccee.

Hey, I want in the Silverstone Club tooo.

that looks awesome meo95

but isn't 59c a really high for a phenom II?

i thought AMD says the cap is 62C but most people keep it under 55C?

I had the same problem (ticking loud fan) when I had an HX850 in my FT02. Switched over to the Seasonic X-750 and haven't looked back since.

Yes it will, and with ease. These are pretty crappy, but the photos were for selling the Blue fans and about a question related to the H70 fitting with the huge NB heat sink.

Meo, very clean man!.. one of the best wc FT02 ive seen.. I'd just get that optical drive black and done deal..

Kurn:The failure of QC. My case no problem.

I emailed SilverStone about it, and they responded with:

Your case is missing the two rivets the frame is secure attached with the other rivets but if you are not satisfied you can return the case to the store where you bought for exchange

So not only did this get through their QC, but they won't do anything to make it right either. I really like this case, but I don't think I'll be buying another SilverStone case unless I can find it in a retail store.

Have you tried to contact newegg yet?

Whoa, sick setup! Very nice. Thank you for taking the time to post those pics for me! =)

I hadn't bothered since I would have to pay to ship it back.

I don't know if things have changed, but I've done exchanges on broken items a in the past and they paid for shipping both ways. I would try chat.

Thanks! I wanted to keep the Classified, but the HR-02 doesn't fit and it doesn't run vanilla mac os quite as well. :(

I gotta say this case is poor for video cards that don't vent outside. I have a 5970 with Accelero Xtreme and my load temps steadily climb all the way up to 100C where it then throttles to 540mhz. This is with 2 AP's installed and all fans on max. My previous case (P182) had poor cooling but somehow it never got that high, maybe 80C max.

My CPU temps are awesome, the case does wonders with it and my idle temps are low too so it's only during really intense GPU work that the heat just gets trapped in there.

This is what my case looks like now (after some cable management and a PSU swap). What can I do to decrease the gpu temps?

2 things with this..

1) That rivet is not important and doesnt even matter.. do you want silverstone to ship you a rivet so you can put it in?

2) Newegg will take the case back and ship you another for free. I have returned damaged items constantly.. all you have to do is go into newegg chat or call and request a free shipping due to manufacturer issue.

If you let something as dumb as a few rivets missing sway you away from a case then you aren't very "hard".

Somethings gotta be wrong. Do you still have your stock cooler? I would try putting that on and see how your temps are.

I know in some coolers that have vapour or liquid inside the piped, being at 90 degrees shifts the liquid so that it doesnt cool properly but I don't know if this would affect your particular cooler. I may not even be correct on the reasoning, I just know there have been issues with certain coolers and the 90 degree rotation.

Something's wrong with your accelero. I know people who have the Sapphire 5970 4GB which has the same heatsink and they're getting 37C idle and 52C load.

Silverstone should issue a small refund to cover a rivet gun and rivets purchase at the hardware store. In any case, it's not worth paying return shipping at all (or going through any return hassle), just go get a rivet gun and some rivets, put the missing ones in, and return the rivet gun.

Oh, and thanks for the list on that watercooled system. For me, the last frontier of PC building is watercooling, it's still a bit of a mystery to me. Strange parts I know little about like.

I think MissJ84 and FaRKle0079 should get married so they can sit around and talk about their FT02 all the time, and so that they can think they're the greatest couple ever because they both own an FT02 and because their lives revolve around the FT02 and everything Silverstone and the greatness that silverstone and the ft02 brings to their lives.

Such an awesome couple.

lol....

They are keeping the thread alive so I think it's a good thing. You swear by your FT02 too.
It has to be the best case of 2009!

lol. When was the last time I posted anything about how "omg the FT02 is bestttttttt!" ? My recent posts here have been answering questions that other people ask about the FT02. Sure I said that there was something wrong with MMAOmegaRED's Accelero, but I've seen accelero extreme coolers installed in FT02 cases where the temps didn't go above mid 50's.

Aside from "everything SS is awesome." I have been keeping an eye out for Case Labs upcoming stuff. It sounds really intriguing.

lol. I'm just being an ass. Don't mind me.

Also...what's case labs?

Case Labs is the consumer division of an OEM enclosure manufacturer (they make small HDD enclosers, server enclosures, and they make Apple's enclosures). Their rep has been posting over on OC.net. Their site is supposed to go up mid December.

hello everyone

i am using silverstone fortress ft02 too right now
and i have little issue here

i replaced the original bottom fan with silverstone blue led fan
the problem is it seems the screw stuck in the fan+fan bracket, and after i tried my best unscrew it, the screw top broken

while its no problem right now as the current fan working ok, but if i want to replace fan, seems it will be a problem

so i am looking for solutions, here
wonder if i can buy another fan bracket, (some screw might stuck on fan grille too, but not bigdeal for that, as i can replace with AP181)
or is there a way to pull stucked screws ?
i haven't try many things, as i dont want to mess more than now

sorry to ask in here rather in trade/sale section, but if someone have unused fan bracket that willing to sell to me, please let me know :)

thanks in advance

ROFL! I just like to help if people have questions. :D
I went from working 60 hours a week last spring to unemployed back in August. My sig other is now the breadwinner, though maybe I am on [H] a little too often.
