While some people don’t like to be photographed while they work….I don’t mind people taking pictures of me at all. Change? Spare some change? Thanks to Krispy D for the image.

something tells me that laptop was swiped from its rightful owner.

Ninja edit much? That was linking to hardocp.com for a few seconds. ;)

He must be in a hobo hotspot.

1.) He found it in the garbage
2.) He is one of those scam artists who beg for money but really aren't poor
3.) It is a staged photo

For the record, not all homeless people are poor, for some it's a life style. Not a clean or safe life style, but still, to each his own. Being poor doesn't make you a thief. And thank god for WiFi hot spots : )

I'm betting he found it in the garbage since the laptop is missing the cd drive.

Not surprising, I see Dells like that in the public electronics recycling bin @ Staples all the time. I just never have the guts to dumpster dive when I'm inside the store with people around.

So, can someone explain to me the point of posting a picture like this online, I would really like to know.

He's not homeless, he's a sysadmin. It can be hard to tell the difference sometimes. ;)

That is true. There is a homeless guy by me and Azhar that is a fucking million and decides to live homeless. He was a trust fund kid traveling the world and blowing money on useless shit. On his trips he seen how badly some people are in other countries and in places where people just don't have a lot of extra money. That made him decide he no longer wanted to be rich, so he moved out of his parents house and moved to the streets. I see him wondering around every now and then. Whats gets me though is here he is now on the street begging for a few dollars or whatever from people when he himself could just be living in a crappy apt, working some job like at mc donalds and just not live how he did. He felt bad living a rich lifestyle but not taking money from those that don't have a lot of spare cash themselves now.

Its a shitty ancient laptop that is missing its optical drive. Some of you just hate homeless people, don't you?

I can understand an aspect of this - it seems the more money I save the less I want to use it. I often get the urge to give it all away to charity, live in a trailer park or worse... I just don't believe spending it on myself will make anything any better, perhaps it comes from some sort of depression or other mental illness. I cant' imagine having 1 million bucks though, I might just go crazy and kill myself

You got that right. You see the same beggar on the same street corner for years. Beggars make quite a bit of money on a good day.

Yeah, I very rarely speak out but this is just offensive to me.

I don't see the humor in this at all.

I see a homeless person and I honestly think Hardocp is much better than this to make fun of this man at his expense or other homeless people in general.

This is someones dad, brother, husband, friend. 90% of homeless people are homeless due to drugs and ore alcohol. Both of which are diseases.

I appreciate a good laugh but c'mon, not like this?

There was a homeless guy staying close to my last job, he was always talking on a Blackberry that didn't have a battery.

In my area, there are choice spots where a homeless person with a good limp can earn $300 a day. All you have to sell is your dignity.

it has equal amount of point as your post questioning the amount of point it has to post.

the internet is serious business.

Actually, that's pretty true. I remember Dateline running a story about begging 10-15 years ago. The reporter made himself look pretty ragged and went out and begged for money. IRC, he pulled in $300-$400 per day and did it for a few days.

Interestingly enough, he then went and cleaned himself up, put on a suit and tie and then begged for bus money claiming he got mugged. He pulled in $500-$600, i think. It was pretty surprising. If i could get over the selling my dignity thing, i'd probably do this for a living. haha. :D

Sure he made more with the suit and tie, but a homeless person you expect to ask you every time you see them. He couldn't really do the suit and tie thing very long because he'd certainly run into some of the same people who would say 'Hey, wait a minute....you got mugged again eh?'
