how solid is that $800 budget? Do you really need a wireless card? Are you set on a 24" monitor? I would probably wait a bit longer and save a little more and go for an i5 machine. Just quickly browsing newegg i have one specced at ~700 without a monitor. If not the only thing i can really see lacking on the parts you listed is the hard drive...5400rpm is pretty crappy considering you can get a 7200 for the same price.

that RAM (DDR3) is not compatable with that motherboard (which needs DDR2).

and yea dump that green hard drive and get a black. its an extra $10 or so but worth it. some people also would recomend a samsung spinpoint, though i dont personally recomend samsung anymore.

depending on what you are doing with this, you might want to look at an AMD option (or find some deals in the classified section here) and see if you can save some money to put towards a better video card. any quad core processor will be fine, but a better video card will help with starcraft2/diablo3.

the LGA775 line of CPUs is fairly dated. they came out 3-4 or more years ago already. all depends on what you will be using the PC for and how long you need it to last. if you were to upgrade CPUs in a year or two, you would need to buy all new new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. its sometimes better to spend the money now and have it future-proofed for a few years.

Can some mod move this to the General Hardware forum? There it would get more eyes on it.

My quick suggestions:

1. Your links are broken. Please fix them

2. If you insist on cheap quad-core, you'll be better-served by a Phenom II x4 (and can actually use the DDR3 ram you have in your build). Here is just one example:

Phenom II x4 3.2 with MSI board featuring USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0: $225 after MIR

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.445122

This CPU will demolish that Core 2 Quad, and the motherboard has more advanced features.

3. You can have Core i5 750 for $35 to $60 more than your current CPU choice:

Combo 1 with cheap ECS board: $265 after MIR

Combo 2 with quality Asus board: $290

you wont even need an $800 computer to play starcraft 2, blizzard never pushes the graphics envelope. you could get away with something around 500 from the newegg bargain bin. diablo 3 doesnt even have an announced release date and req system specs havent been announced either so you might wanna wait on building a pc for that game. would be best to do what first poster said and wait to build a nice i5 machine for cheaper if you can get away with whatever you are currently using.

You want to play games on PC?

Go get a Xbox 360 and buy those used games on ebay for around $10.

i3 530+H55 board $200
4 GB DDR3 $91
500 GB SATA HDD $55
DVD Burner $20
Case and PSU $100
5770 $150

doesn't get any cheaper than that.
