Thank you in advance for your help.

I took my Diamond XOC 4890 out of my PC to install a new power supply (a Corsair 750HX). I got everything hooked up and put my 4890 back in the system, and there was no signal. Thinking it had to be the power supply (as I was just gaming with the 4890 prior to taking things apart), I installed a brand new XFX 5870 video card that I just purchased. Voila! No problem. The Corsair power supply is fine, and the voltages are perfect.

So I take the Diamond XOC 4890 and install it in another PC I have (a Core2 Duo) with a more-than-adequate 520W power supply, and still no signal.

Could I have shorted it out pulling it out of my machine? I unplugged the power cord. I am completely at a loss as it was working beautifully this a.m., and only acted up after I removed it from the PC.

Help!

Same thing happen with my 8800gtx .so I baked it and now it works :)

Try baking it as the thread about this topic shows. If that doesn't work I wouldn't count on Diamond offering timely support .. I waited for a single response for my dead 4870 x2 for 4+ months.

I am starting to question whether I unplugged the AC power before removing the card. What a rookie mistake! Dooh!

Let's assume I didn't unplug the video card, and I shorted it out. Can baking fix that?

No .. you just made yourself a paper weight. Nothing will fix it. Time to start shopping for a new card dude.

Mine has done that a few times.
With differnent mobo's and power supplies but with the same 2 video cards so I figure it can't be the video cards at the same time failing...

I have 2 matching cards - I found that disconnecting the power to both while leaving them in the case on the board and the holding the power button pushed in and pressing the cmos reset a few times - doing this same thing maybe 2 or 3 times. Then it works. You have to hold the power button down until it boots. It usually happened when recovering from sleep mode.

It's happened to me about 3 times so far in the past year and few months and I find it related to sleep mode or unplugging it while it was not yet finished doing whatever it was doing or unplugging it while it was sleeping.

If you don't have a cmos reset try taking out the mobo cmos battery - wait - put it back in, power on the system and press in the power button until it starts - you have to keep it pressed else it will not start. It should eventually start. If you make any changes to the bios settings do it after a successful boot.

With all that goes on in systems these days I think things just get "stuck" sometimes.

I just had it happen about an hour ago recovering from sleep mode - last time was maybe 8 months ago. The above procedure worked just fine. I have a new board and new CPU and I know the video cards are just fine. Video works great and temps are ok so nothing is wrong and nothing needs to be replaced. Passes video test "futuremark" "furmark" and "prime95" without effort.
