Destroying an iPad on Video

I don't pay attention to any Apple product but the dislike of this product confuses me. What is so wrong with it that even apple lovers don't like it?

Aside from the normal apple hate? Overall market ebook price hikes would be a good start.

Normally I wouldn't condone the senseless destruction of tech, but this was an apple product and the presentation was pretty good :D

At least the Mad TV one was funny. That was as stupid as the device itself.
 
Damn beat me to it? I was planning on doing a side by side video review of the tm2 culminating in the destruction of an iPad. But I think I'll do some sort of give away after I was done reviewing the iPad.

I love this tm2 thus far. Playing BioShock 2 on a low power tablet, pretty sweet!

I don't understand the people that say "such a waste".... did you pay for it in any way? Last time I checked in this country we could do what we wanted with our money.

Some people pay their bills with it, some put it down strangers G-strings, others buy new tech and destroy it. Who cares? It's no skin off your nose.

Tosh is pretty funny I think.
 
Hmm, I didn't really find it "funny", nor do I see the point. He midazwell' took it out back and shot it with a gun. It reminds me of those "will it blend" videos, nothing new.
 
To answer some of the other questions, the reason that this gets hate even from Apple Zealots is because it had so much potential (I'm not speaking about the hype -- just the potential of where Apple could've gone with a tablet device) and Apple dropped the ball on just about every front:

1) it runs iPhone OS. this automatically limits its usefulness
2) there's no camera.
3) the storage is limited.
4) the resolution is limited.
5) it's basically an over-grown iPod Touch
6) for what you get in the above, the pricepoint is way too high.

Apple had a lot of room to really knock one out of the park here and they just plain ole didn't.

But I don't see the point in buying something like this JUST to destroy it :eek: Unless they were hoping to regain the money/capitalize by getting more viewers as a publicity stunt.

I hate apple, i think jobs is an idiot, and their marketing BS is annoying for anyone who knows better, however I will say i love my iphone. but other than that and ipods nothing they have made/make i find worth my time or money

and as much as i love the iphone/ipod itunes ruins them both! lol

Look at 3 seconds in to the video. That's the real iPad. Black apple logo, top oriented toward the "short" side.

Look at the end. White Apple logo, turned 90 degrees.

He smashed a Macbook screen.
 
mmtom may be correct. It sure looks like its fake now that I look at it.

Rather disappointed with him now!!! I demand that Tosh now go buy 20 Ipads and blow them up in a nice pyro-technic way!!!

Because it's literally a blown up iPhone and about as useful... which means it's useless since it's too large.
 
It's pointless and stupid. I'm no Apple fan, but why do this? For fame? To prove a point?

If you don't like it, don't buy it. That's it.


And yeah, it look fake to me, but still...
 
tosh.o is the best show on comedy central right now. danny tosh was always a classic comedian, and he is going no-holds-barred on tv with the things he says. its awesome

But this is their marketing plan.

Sell you the basic piece of sh*t then slowly add features to it later like the iphone s???? ect....
