I am called ' ferrus '.

Who's talking bullshit here? Me or the other posters? (I encourage you to read all of it before you judge).

They seem to think everything but cheap OCZ or CM PSUs are overkill, even for a multi-GPU setups with high power draw.

I visit that forum a lot, and they frequently mismatch cheap power supplies (e.g OCZ Fatal1ty 550) with high end gaming rigs. Makes me mad.

After reading that thread, I'm glad [H] doesnt give us the option to add FLASHING avatars...

Corsair PSU ftw!

Yeah Corsair is good.. But what do you think about their comments? I mean, I have a TX 750 paired with a 4870, which really is overkill. But they are saying a 550/650/ is overkill for dual 5770s. What I want to know is who hasn't got their facts straight here - me, or them?

NOt reading the trad, just a general reply - the more powerful the system is, the more I would be inclined to go for a quality PSU.

Corsair make excellent PSUs. The 450VX for example, I IMO would be sufficient for many single-GPU systems, having a quad-core cpu makes me lean for more power, when it actual case, as far as wattage goes, even the most powerful graphics cards on the market paired with i7s and such only consume about 300W at load. There are the amps to consider - but even knowling little about the subject, one would only probably need to seriously look at amps and rail sand whatnot when they are building a monster system, but if you do that, just buy a good 800W+ PSU and you are pretty much set for any set up more or less.

I do witter...

I'm thinking about offering my services to them. When they fry their systems I'll be willing to work on them and repair them for the low low price of $40 an hour. Double on Saturday.
Cheap bastards anyway....

$40 per hour PLUS a case of beer on weekends. ;)

Corsair makes PSUs? Wow, that's news to me.

Personally, my next is going to be a Seasonic X750 Gold.

Corsair rebrands Seasonic and CWT, typically. Seasonic is an actual manufacturer (OEM).

Oh, I knew about Seasonic relations, not this "CWT" though, but either way. I really don't see why the guy said what he did, unless it was... err sarcasm.

CWT is Channel Well Tech, another popular OEM, used by a lot of PSU companies (Thermaltake, Antec, Hiper, XClio, etc).

I see. now I am aware if it. Though when i saw it for the first time there was one sort of PUS-looking link in google, was not much on it though. After a qucik search of the acronym of course.
