MMA Guy Flips Out On Game Developer

So you are an MMA fighter (now a MTV reality show host) seeing your in-game persona for the first time and your stats / ranking are really low. Do you a.) realize it is just a video game or b.) go off on the developer? Watch the video all the way (all bad language is bleeped). Funny stuff.

Ex-MMA? Mayhem's got an upcomming fight next month on Strikeforce's CBS debut (undercard on the Fedor/Rodgers fight night).

It was also a big setup that most everyone in the room was in on. The ballpit was indeed the best part of that video tho.
 
ha, ok, that was pretty funny at the end, that guy had to be shitting his pants a little bit though
 
Maybe I'm just growing older or something, but I found this "joke" to be obnoxious and immature. I mean, the anxiety level of those developers rose to a point you can sense oozing out of your computer screen as you watched. I'm very protective of my dorky-fellow-developer-brothers, and seeing one punk out at the end and say "no disrespect" makes me sad. Someone starts acting up like that in my development house, I would call his ass out for the shitty skills he has and than have security toss his sorry ass out in the street. Just cause your an MMA fighter doesn't give you the pass to act like an ass and get away with it. Reminds me of high school or something.

Maybe I just need to lighten up. But damn, I wanted to take control of this situation myself while watching. Protect my peeps!

Nah I'm in that same boat of "oldness"... a joke that scares the shit out of someone really isn't that funny to me.

My wife always says that thing about me when we watch shows like Overhaulin' or Punk'd. She's afraid I'll go off before the "joke" is revealed.

Now that would be funny... MMA guy pranks the [H] offices <fight breaks out> SURPRISE!!!!. Oops! :eek:

No I'm the person that enjoys life and knows how to laugh at jokes. If your self esteem is so low that you can't handle someone playing around with you then I really feel sorry for you.

Mayhem is awesome. He can be stupid sometimes, but other times he can be pretty funny.

Jason is heck of a guy, I've met and spent time around him countless times over the years by way of our gym's affiliation with Team Quest. He pulled the same stunt on me in Vegas and I laughed as hard then as I did watching this video now.

Saying "just kidding' at the end does not negate the fact that this guy was using his known MMA abilities and physical size/strength to intimidate...of all people...a software developer. Somebody he knew was not likely to stand up for himself and punch him in the face for being a dick.

ugh, MMA fighters, especially on the Ultimate Fighter/UFC, are such thugs. They really take away from the elegance of martial arts. Now MMA is like Mixed Meathead Assholes

Just like in real life, there are 20 assholes for every 1 nice guy. There are plenty of nice, respectful, and talented fighters involved in MMA right now. St. Pierre, Machida, Couture, Frank Mir, Dan Henderson, Joe Stevenson, Forrest Griffin, are just a few class acts that I can think of off the top of my head...

Randy Couture, GSP, Kenny Florian, Eddie Alvarez, Akoi, Fedor Emelianenko, Vitor Belfort, Mirko Crocrop, Big Nog, Lil Nog, Anderson Silva, etc etc are all thugs. :rolleyes:

Come people, it was funny. Everyone expects that MMA fighters have huge egos, are easily pissed off, and just like to fight all the time. He played that part very well. Anyone who is around a MMA fighter for real would crap their pants if they got pissed at you and got in your face.

And that was the point, to see him get nervous and crap his pants, which he did. Miller is funny like that. Bully Beatdown is fun to watch.
 
Guys [from what I see here in SoCal] throw on some wraps and a Tapout shirt and all of a sudden they are "MMA fighters"

Exactly. This is how it is everywhere. I wouldn't go as far to say 20 assholes for every 1 nice guy, though.

lol, I train in Muay Thai and I don't "like to fight all the time" nor do I have a big ego.

But also, a lot of good fighters come out of SoCal. I do agree with this some what, though. Same thing goes in AZ. They throw on some gloves and go to the gym once a week for 2 months and they automatically assume they are Mixed Martial Artists.

Ex school teachers Rich Franklin and Joe Veres are hardly thugs. MMA athletes are just like everyone else. There are some thugs and ass holes but most of them are straight up nice guys.
