1680x1050 on a 26" Doublesight, I only play games in window mode for easy multi-tasking.

I can't imagine that would look very good. That's an offly low resolution for such a large display.

1080p on a Pioneer 5020FD for most things these days. I found it to be much better looking than a Dell 3007FPW-HC.

To each their own. 1920x1080 vs. 2560x1600? No comparison, 2560x1600 wins hands down. Though I hear mixed things about the backlight bleeding issues on the 3007WFP-HC model. The 3007WFP isn't wide gamut, nor does it have the LED back lighting. It isn't totally free of back light bleed, but it's a better looking display from what I've heard from some people. The 3007WFP-HC looks great to me (Microcenter has one on demo) but then again I've not had both displays side by side either.

Dan_D, as someone who primarily used a Westy 37 for two years I must be swinging the other way on the subject of resolution vs contrast.

I've never been able to warm up to the Dell since getting it last Christmas when it was sold at their all time outlet low of 637.5 + tax shipped (what a steal!). It lacks the "pop", vibrancy, or 3Dness that the Kuro or a Nec 20WMGX2 have. Everything seems dull, flat, and somehow more artificial without that looking into a window feel that high contrast glossy displays have.

Interesting people want such large displays for gaming. Maybe for an rts but for an fps a 22 inch is plenty big enough for me. Any bigger and you can't fit the whole display in your field of vision which means you have to move your eyes and refocus to see different parts of the screen. Hence big displays are a disadvantage unless you have them a fair distance from you, which is a bit pointless - might as well have a smaller display closer.

I couldn't disagree with this more. I can fit my 30" LCD in my entire field of vision without sitting too far back from it. In fact I sit about the same distance from it as I do my 20" LCD's. My eyes aren't all that great either so I don't know what you are talking about.

You mean move your eyes and refocus... like you do every single moment that you're not in front of your 22" LCD? You've never played COD4, Dead Space, Mass Effect or Oblivion on a 30" LCD powered by a pair of GTX 285 cards in SLI. I suggest you never try it because you'll hate your 22" LCD. ;)

I couldn't agree more.

2560x1600 on my main computer (30'' LCD). Tri-Crossfire.

Kids are playing on 2 different computers with 24'' at 1920X1200. (I know, they're spoiled...).

I will never go back to my ''small'' 24''... :) Nothing can't beat playing at 2560X1600. :)

How do you 2560x1600 gamers personally handle games with poor or unscalable UIs? 8 point fonts don't work very well for me at that resolution.

On the other hand, World of Warcraft with it's 100% scalable UI shows how amazing the resolution can be for non-shooters and console ports that have minimal or large UIs.

I can't think of any games off the top of my head where this is a problem excluding Diablo II but that's older than hell and you need a mod to adjust the resolution past 800x600 anyway.

1680x1050 my screen wont go higher :( but.... :p i'm looking for a new screen 30" or 32"

He's playing 1680 x 1050 on a 1920 x 1200 monitor in Window Mode so there is no drop in quality due to interpolation.
