I'd like to start off this thread by thanking all DC'ers (no matter their religious affiliation, their skin color, their nationallity, whether they're Democrat or Republican or their sexual identification) . I would also like to say thanks to all the military member DC'ers among them :)

On this special American holiday of "Memorial Day" I would like to say "THANKS", job well done and welcome home to all my brethran.. A very special thanks to those who paid the ultimate price for freedom by giving their life to participate in a foreign war, as the Bud commercial says, this holidays for you  (err..., something along those lines)

Oh yeah, I almost want to puke when I read about some 18yr Air Force veteran, highly decorated combat pilot being discharged from the military because of some assinine snafu over the American law of "don't ask, don't tell"

Nice post JWS - wish I had noticed it on Monday when you posted it. It's a shame that a lot of military members aren't appreciated until they've given the ultimate sacrifice in order for the American people to remain free. I always try to acknowledge military members when I see them out in public, and thank them for their service to the country.

On a side note, I'll be seeing you in about a week. Be sure and have some beer and tamales on hand!!! :D
