The GTX 260 and GTX 260 Core 216... there is also the 55nm GTX 260.

The regular 260 has 192 Shaders, the Core 216 has 216 shaders. Thats the only difference.

Now the 55nm has 216 Shaders, and is 55nm and therefore, i believe, is clocked higher.

As for the HD4870 1GB, i do not know as i do not own one myself but do own a GTX 260.

yes it is faster than the old 192 shader model.... when it comes to the 4870 1gb and the 216 core 260, it depends what games you play, some games will play better on the other etc. but you can't go wrong with either of them. ive personally used both and they're both good up to 1920x with most games ( just not things like Crypiss)

But GTX is having almost 400 MB less RAM, is it a major disadvantage??
