Uh oh, the experts are all saying we will run out of bandwidth by the end of t…

Experts predict that consumer demand, already growing at 60 percent a year, will start to exceed supply as early as 2010 because of more people working online and the soaring popularity of bandwidth-hungry Web sites such as YouTube and services such as the BBC's iPlayer.

What? No.

It's as if they assume that the pinnacle of bandwidth technology has already been achieved and all we can do is add more lines.

This reminds me of the South Park episode where everyone was in a refugee camp after hearing that "California has some internet".

NEED MORE FIBER!!!

That always helps me when my tubes are clogged!

(see what I did there? huh huh? double entendre FTW!)

Lol, imho that was one of the most disturbing episodes ever. Still lots of llz though.

Maybe if we stop spending money on capping bandwidth and use that money to upgrade the equipment, we wouldn't have this issue.

Damn the no edit..:)

The term "exaflood," created by the same PR tank that crafted the term "intelligent design," is part of a sophisticated campaign aimed at convincing the press, public and lawmakers that without giving carriers what they want (less regulation, no net neutrality laws, no price controls, huge subsidies and tax credits, less consumer protection), the world will simply run out of bandwidth and we'll all be weeping over our clogged tubes.

Such a reputable news source as Fox News wouldn't dare tell us something that wasn't true.

Prepare to run out of internets chumps!

As we speak, I am bottling internet. So if it ever runs out, I could start selling my internet.

J/K. The main reason we are running out is because they are not upgrading the hardware for new internet protocalls and stuff.

Internet?? Not the internet!!! Did somebody accidentally the whole thing?

Coming up next: Downloading too many pr0n/youtube/netflix videos will get you charged with attempted DDoS'ing of all the internets. :)

My Beijing 'contact' has hooked me up with some decent black market Chinese internets for when we run out of ours.

You can have my intertoobs when you pry them from my cold, dead, cheeto-stained hands...

Nobody got paid off to write this article. Im telling you the people who want bandwidth caps have nothing to do with it! Nothing I say! There is no tie between these news outlets and the large telecoms, none at all! We must all adopt bandwidth caps to save us from this global meltdown. It is a matter of global security to ensure the life of the internet and thus our economy. Ugh, you would think corporate propaganda would be less obvious.

The idea of a information running out is ridiculous, and that's all the internet is, information.

Hahaha what a load of fucking bull. Ask Verizon if they give a shit what you do on their (fiber optic, which are still slower than some european/eastern countries) lines with the bandwidth they give you.

Which protocols would those be?

Its the big internet guzzling trucks that pull your email across the innertubes. we need to set our ethernet cables to use smaller more internet efficient vehicles to move traffic across the tubes.

2$ to the first person who can explain what I just said in realistic terms.

We need compress our emails and internet traffic? Pirates already do that with WinRAR, LOL! Who knew pirates were actually mitigating their effect on the internet bandwidth "problem"!?

My agenda book from junior high said: Experts believe the Internet could crash as early as 1998.

These kinds of reports are published almost like clockwork. Fear, uncertainity, and doubt being submitted to and propagated by the greatest media train to spread fear, uncertainity, and doubt.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for another FOX News report about video game violence. Hopefully they've upgraded their violent game clips from the "Doom 1" days; pixelated chainsaws and imps don't carry the same impact on a large HD television.
