does anybody have Cryostasis?

This one is not cooked yet.

I'll be waiting for a while.

Looks like it runs like crap (even for a Eurogamer reviewer) with or without Physx.

I mention the reviewer because usually they act like everything is fine and go on and give the game a score ( a 6 out of 10 in this case) and never tell you it runs like dirty dog shit (I guess so they can't be accused of not knowing how to set up their hardware) but this guy actually makes it the center point of his discussion.

Catch you later.

The PhysX efects ARE present in the full US vesion. There is an option under"Video"for"Hardware Physics".With that said,I havent really seen a huge difference between the two, then again,I just started playing with it after seeing this thread so I will update it later..

I jumped on the $15 deal from GameAgent..I dont see it as a rental as Ive backed up the game files and install files and dont see the need for the $2.99 option they had..

So far I think its a pretty decent game..Very atmospheric, well paced and intriguing..Those looking for Doom 3 need not apply..I have it running 1920x1080 DX10 all settings maxed with 16xAF and 16xAA @60fps with my sig rig with no technical difficulties so far..

Stay Tuned..

You can backup the instlal files all you want, but you're still limited to 10 installs and just two computers, so hope you don't want to play it years down the road when you're on your 2nd pc after this one.

More than enough for me.And..that definitely is no reason for me not to play the game NOW..I just dont understand people depriving themselves of things they could enjoy today for what might happen years from now..

i got this game installed about and hour ago and was game ran surprisingly well. after reading the 2 pages in this thread is was skeptical of the performance i was going to get. my setup is a Q6600 at 3.2 4 gb ram vista 64 and 2 GTX 260's in sli. i ran the game with physx enabled and my FPS hovered between 40-70 and with dips into the 20 every so ofter but not enough to bug me.

you are really holding those gtx260 cards back with your cpu at 2.4 stock speeds. depending on the game and res you are playing at that second card is hardly even getting utilized.

what about a run with the physx off completely? thats how I ran Mirrors Edge after having some issues with physx in the game.

That's what the patch is for. I've been enjoying Mirror's Edge with PhysX since January...

Didn't you see he was running his Q6600 at 3.2GHz?

I love the atmosphere of the game, but holy crap I wish it ran better. Performance wise I don't have many issues with the demo. Everything set to high, with motion blur off, and the two water settings turned on. No AA/No AF, Hardware Physics and Advanced PhysX turned on I do get the occasional hang-up, but its nothing terrible that won't be fixed by playing with some settings. Major issue is that the demo keeps randomly going all black screen on me. Have to alt+ F4 out of it. Never happens in the same place twice.

PS: EVGA is also hosting the demo: http://www.evga.com/articles/00471/

It´s getting quite poor reviews and most talk here is not about the game but the physX... That is some clever marketing for Cryostasis including Da mega PhysX support :).

PhysX or not is it actually good or a waste of time if you played Penumbra, System Shock 2, Bioshock etc?

I tried playing it today and just couldnt get into it. the weapons shake when moving the mouse back and forth and the game just doesnt feel smooth. you can just turn off the physx effects but that didnt make a noticeable difference.

Holy shit this game runs like ass for me when it starts to get crazy with soething physx enabled.

E8400
2gb ram
9800GX2

Not good enough for this game? :(.

I played this game the other night (demo from EVGA.com) and it was not that great IMHO. I was thinking Crysis when i read the name.

I, too, downloaded the demo from EVGA and think this game is a steamy pile of shit. I played for about 15 minutes and decided that was enough. As was mentioned I am sure playing with settings may help it, but even beyond that I just couldn't get into the game.

It's an amazing game once you tweak it to run well with your system. I just disabled shadows and aa and I'm having a great time with this game. It's simply a rough diamond waiting to be cut and polished... I have a e6600@3.4 and 2 gtx 260s in sli and once I tweaked her out she ran as smoothly as bioshock, but l had to compromise especially when it came to aa, but at 1920x1200 that's not as big of a deal... In a couple years this game will get it's props as people will actually be able to run it with mainstream specs...

Here's a hint: if you want vsync -- disable it in game settings and force it on thru the control panel. Otherwise it will be capped at 30 fps.

the game has really good framerate with physx turned off but the weapons seem to vibrate when looking around and its very annoying. the only other game I have seen that happen in was Call of Cthulhu.

Oh wow, look at this dude's body. So realistic! Love his Bigfoot hands and how his body is made entirely of plastic and his biceps are actually just vinyl balloons inflated with air. Crysis this game ain't.

In all seriousnous, this game is pretty interesting for a survival horror that you play through with melee attacks and basically just trying to survive while reliving the last moments of all the things that have died in that ship...but since games like this freak me out when I play them, I just watched someone else play through it on Youtube HD at 720p resolution.

And it actually looks pretty awesome and freaky as well.

I am about 2 hours in and i'm thoroughly enjoying it. Sure, the framerate can tank at times but otherwise, very interesting premise and atmosphere. I've jumped a few times. Very glad I purchased it!
