Nvidia Geforce 182.06 WHQL Driver Released ...

I don't know what games even use openGL anymore. The last game that used it was quake 4 i think. And if you are thinking this, then no, prey was not an openGL game
Prey used opengl and that wasn't the last opengl game either. My point is, that even though it is very true that no gl games have been released in awhile, doesn't mean that people who still like old games should be shafted.

I wonder if nvidia is going to fix the EDID issue with some LCD's in an upcoming driver update...

Hehe I was just about to post that actually. But what I would like to know is if these new drivers actually make a difference to people with many generations old hardware like mine...

Yeah I'm curious as to what it would do with a 9800GX2.

Can someone help me please..

I have 7950 GX 2 running in "Multi Display" mode to power up my 2 DELL 3007WFP-HC.. It has been running fine with driver 178..

However, after installing this new driver (182.06), I am getting a BLACK screen each time I log on to windows and this problem continues to exist.. I also noticed that now, only 1 of the monitor is powered up, instead of 2..

During the BLACK screen, I noticed that my mouse cursor is in perfect shape and remains visible, but everything else is BLACK..

This is really frustrating, I had installed and uninstalled this driver countless of times and it still yield the same result..

Any help or tips would be appreciated.. Thank You.:)

I used to have the same issue until I started installing the driver in safemode after a clean using DriverCleaner from Driver Heaven.

Can anyone tell me if these have the "manage custom resolution" option. I'd like to get these for my 9800M GTS but since I'm using HDM -> DVI I have to have that option or I get stuck with really low refresh rates. :(

From 550fps to 545fps?:p

Lol I have vsync on so it's set at 60fps. :D Btw, I want to take back what I said before about these drivers. These drivers do in fact work great and might have actually increased my fps in HL2/CS:S.

Titan Quest doesn't like these drivers, at least on Windows 7. Black screens at the main menu sometimes or right after loading a game. The 181.xx worked fine...

Aside from that minor annoyance everything seems to be going fine sofar. :)

So, is it safe to assume that I should go to SAFE mode, use DriverCleaner and then remove the old driver before re-installing it??

Dont see why not. Though funnily enough I have never had issues with Nvidia drivers where i had to do that. What I usually do after uninstalling the drivers is just run CCleaner, reboot, slap the new drivers on, reboot and voila!

the 181.22 drivers would stop downclocking after running a 3d app but these downclock my gtx260 just fine.

I have a question, can I uninstall my Nvidia driver without any special software??

Also, is there any FREE driver cleaner out there??

Thank you..:)

Would I need to uninstall ntune and physx as well as the nvidia driver before installing the new one?

installed it...didn't notice anything.... still able to max all gamz with no issues (except you know what) ... L4D still crashes after about 10 minutes, still unable to kill that big exotic thing at the end of crysis warhead but i assure you ... when i kill it... i'll uninstall it and never install it again

Yes you can just use Nvidia's uninstall utility and most of the time you will be just fine. If you really want to be thorough ...

Remove Drivers and PhysX Engine using Nvidia's Uninstall Program.

Change Video Driver to "Standard VGA Driver"

Restart in Safe Mode

Use a Driver cleaner such as Driver Sweeper to cleanout any left over garbage ...

Thank you.. I will try it out again tonight..

SOOOOO happy!!! I can play FO3 without it crashing now and I'm hooked!

Damn you nvidia

I ran into a bug with the .06 drivers. For some odd reason, sometimes the video card would not ramp up to 3d speeds...others, it would work just fine. Reverting to the previous drivers cured this issue.

Installed these to replace 185.20, NFSU Never dips under 50 frames, The rest of my games i have not tested but as far as that goes, Cod5/Cod uo seems the same.

Still getting the black screen after uninstalling all NVIDIA drivers and then installing the new 182.06 driver... I think I am going to switch back to 178.26..:(:(

they downclock just fine on boot or after playing a game but they dont downclock after playing flash stuff online. this had been a problem on the last 2 drivers and hopefully Nvidia will get their shit together and figure this out.

Using these drivers over 185.20 and im very happy, i dont notice a difference with cuda on with hd, but meh

Lol, it's the first time I've ever had this kind of error, but I'm getting more and more familiar with their shoddy drivers.

Anyone find that their fan is running more than normal? I just finished playing TF2 about 15 minutes ago and it is still blowing away. It keeps varying the fan speed. Prior to the new drivers, I would drop back to almost no noise within about 30 seconds.
