Hey guys, I have 3 Quake Live invites I can pass out....

looking to get between $10-20 for an invite.... also willing to accept trades for random stuff

haha, just kidding, I have 3 invites, first 3 to post for one will get them
edit: PM me email addresses to send them to (email will come from support@quakelive.com, so double check those spam filters....)

this game rocks... we should get together an [H] group once the final game is out.... there simply is no better FPS out right now...

yeah it rocks if you like getting POHNED!!!!!!! nah....really, i was saying the same thing the other day.....an old fps like quake making a revival and kicking ass in the same day as cod4, cs:s, etc.........very awesome competetive shooter.

I'm in the beta already and while I like it, it does get old if you play it more than 2 or so matches. I'm just too used to modern games with more depth. As a game it is fast as balls tho.

HOWEVER, I am rather bummed that it is unplayable on my netbook.

more depth? i think you don't know what depth is..... quake live is currently the only FPS with enough depth as to COMPLETELY separate people with different skill levels....

the better player will always win a set of matches, this game separates skill better than any other currently out

I guess I meant depth in terms of gameplay. Newer games have different classes, more gametypes etc...

And DAMN, the learning curve is steep. I was never a Quake fan, so the whole 'hunt for guns' thing is rather new...

quake IS depth in terms of gameplay, thats what it is all about...

superficially, the pseudo "realistic" military shooters have more "depth" (like i said, superficially) in the sense that they have a ton of options and such, but in the end, every other game out there today (with the debatable exception of Team Fortress 2) has been so watered down in the skill category, that, sadly, your average gamer today will mistake a game with straightforward gameplay with one that has simple gameplay....

That has absolutely nothing to do with the depth of gameplay. So you're telling me that if I create a game where the only purpose is to type a sentence the fastest, it has depth because it separates skill levels? The fastest typer will always win, but there's zero depth.

Quake3 is a great game, and as a matter of fact I was just playing the original a few minutes ago. It's one of the best twitch based shooters around, but no, there is no depth to the gameplay.

there is *insane* depth to quake 3's gameplay....

the way the guns balance each other out, the insane coordination required in a team match, the *requirement* to move to the right place at the right time, in the right way, *every* time......

seriously, quake 3/live's gameplay is more cerebral, and demanding than just about any other game

I really disagree. I'd say ANY multiplayer racing game has more depth.

As of right now, their 5-tiered skill levels do not set people enough apart. It's currently one of the biggest complaints.

sure, the matching system is broken right now... but the game itself still sets people apart in-match better than you can imagine.... especially if you're used to TF2/CS/Battlefield, etc....

everyone sign up at www.ggl.com too their 1v1 ladder just recently opened. Be fun to get some shit talking going on here. All in good fun of course.
