2208WFP - TN or PVA?

The 2208WFP is indeed TN. Dell Specs. Also listed as TN at TFT Central.

The 2209WA claims to feature something called an "eIPS" panel, which it seems nobody has heard of before. However, that CNET review is very positive. Hope some more reviewers get their hands on it so we can learn some more about this mystery monitor.

CNet reviews are always positive. I wonder why.

Well, finally!

And it's so sad that Dell have began to use the Ultrashap as a shameful marketing ploy, tarnishing its value.

From the specs I have seen, their review is justified. It's an IPS panel with a 5/6ms response time at the sacrifice of only some color gamut. It is also the only 22" IPS screen available.

I'd definitely like to know when IPS panels can have 5/6ms response times that aren't grey to grey...that'd definitely be a nice compromise between the response times of TN and the better color reproduction of IPS panels...from what I know, no panel like that exists.

Yeah, we have to wait for a professional review (non-cnet) for the Dell 2209wa E-IPS
looks like they reduced color gamut to compensate Response time

(wa - wide angle
E-IPS - Economic IPS)
