DVICE has a pretty cool list of five tech predictions from 1968 that were dead-on and five that…well, weren’t so dead on. This guy had some pretty amazing predictions. Even the ones that didn’t come true are still pretty close.

1968 PREDICTION "The single most important item in 2008 households is the computer… Computers also handle travel reservations, relay telephone messages, keep track of birthdays and anniversaries, compute taxes and even figure the monthly bills for electricity, water, telephone and other utilities."

1968, the year of the monkey and my birth year as well. Nice read. So who's got the 2048 Crystal Ball?

Don't you read HG Wells? Despite the world ending, there were groups of survivors and a bunch of ape-like mutants living underground in 2048.
 
He was pretty close, he mentions what we call direct deposit, and people pay for bills with a card that deducts funds from your bank account.
 
Modemixers?? and they respond with air planes!!! That is completely a BSed answer, because they already had commercial airliners in the 1968.
 
Since there was no pr0n prediction in 1968 in regards to 2008, I'd like to see Ockie's pr0n prediction in regards to the next 40 years.

Perhaps pr0n will progress to such levels that it is deemed illegal due to the mass drop in births globally?

You must have missed the point about the Mayan calendar repeating after every cycle...we are already in teh 4th cycle which is about to end 12/22/2012 and a new cycle will begin.

Damn...too bad, the world will just have to go on.
 
My mother predicted I would be the most handsome boy in the world when I was born...

25 years later, she was right!!!

Oh, I know, but that is still the popular myth going on about the world ending 2012. I didn't say that it was my theory ;)

Hopefully all the 2012 nutbags will kill themselves and leave us their stuff!
