Why is that scary? If someone wants to buy something that they will enjoy, where's the harm? I can tell you from experience that playing stuff like CoD4 and Crysis/Crysis Warhead at 110" is fun stuff.
 
You'd have to install an average home sized A/C in the room that thing is in just to keep from baking. 7KW/H is a lot of juice/heat. Still pretty awesome.
 
What circuit in your house can provide enough juice?

Definitely not your typical 110 or even 220 volt.

I think a dedicated stove circuit is 60amps x 220 volts. That would handle it.

Your typical 110v outlet at 10-12 amps would not. Neither would a 220v 30amp dryer circuit

It's most likley a hardwired connection, but most likley in the 40-50 amp range for the main breaker.

Shouldn't be an issue as the type of people buying these things will have the cash for the wiring and the power to support these types of devices.

I forsee this tv ending up in home theater rooms, rather than the traditional overhead projection (which can sometimes be a pita depending on the room layout/design). Some folks at AVS tosses 250k on a projector, so this should be pocket change.
 
I'm I the only one that noticed that the low resolution made it look like crap? I mean the idea of a 150" TV is nice, but the pixels are more than 1/16" on an edge! That's 215 pixels per sq inch compared with 8425 pixels per sq inch on my 24" LCD.

That being said, as long as you were like 20 feet+ from it and never feed it a standard def signal I guess you'd be ok.

150" is very impressive on size for sure. And holy shit, 7kWatts of power? 8 hours /day thats like 200$ish extra to your electric bill. Although you won't have to heat your house in the winter, dear god the cooling costs in the summer :(
 
I have a feeling this if for bragging rights, and will never see any kind of mass production.

It's high, but really not that bad. A home that this will fit into will have at least 4 good sized airconditioners anyways so this will just be a blip on the radar.

IIRC this thing has 4 times the resolution than 1080p so it has excellent quality.

Ok, it just didn't look that good from the screen shots, or maybe it's just a lack of content to push at that 2060p?

I would love to see examples of many different games being played on that T.V. I bet CoD4 would look awesome!

Hopefully nobody who buys this T.V. will be dumb enough to sit up close to it. Sprained neck anyone?
