I think this the 2nd year in the row where you have a huge abundance of high quality games available on any console (Wii excluded). No matter if you have a PC, PS3, or a 360 there is a huge amount of triple-A titles coming down the line this year. What's on everyone's must have list this year and how much money are you planning to spend?

Here's my personal list of the stuff I'm picking up for the rest of this year. There are a few notable omissions like Mirror's Edge and Rock Band 2 (which I'll be picking up early next year) just because there is TOO much stuff to play. Anyways, here's my list:

09/15 Stalker: Clear Sky - PC
10/14 SOCOM Confrontation - PS3
10/20 Dead Space - PS3
10/21 Little Big Planet - PS3
10/21 Fable 2 - X360
10/21 Far Cry 2 - PC
10/21 Star Ocean: First Departure - PSP
10/28 Fallout 3 - PC/PS3
10/28 Red Alert 3 - PC
11/04 Resistance 2 - PS3
11/07 Gears of War 2 - X360
11/17 Left 4 Dead - PC
11/18 Prince of Persia - PS3
12/30 Chrono Trigger - DS

I agree there seems to be an abundance of games worth interest but I don't think all of them should be there. It's also premature to say they are "high quality" before they are released. More like 'eagerly anticipated'?

That list is just my opinion and personal preference but I would like to hear your insight on which ones you think shouldn't be there. And yes, I should have worded it slightly different, but most of those releases are guaranteed to be good quality.

Well considering I only have a PC that narrows it down a lot.

Ones I am looking forward to:
Fallout 3
Left 4 Dead
Gears of War 2 (if it comes out for the PC)
Kings Bounty
GTA IV

Some that interest me are Far Cry 2, Dead Space, and Stalker. I don't have my full list in front of me but I think there's more. I have a lot of catching up to do on some currently released games too.

As long as it's not "PC Gaming is dead!" season, I'm happy.

Left 4 Dead - PC
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - PC
Crysis Warhead - PC
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - PC
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - PC
Fallout 3 - PC
Far Cry 2 - PC
Fable 2 - xbox 360

for me.

Hey,They are so many games coming out like in a months time its so hard to play them all i think they need to bump them apart in my opinion.:)

I'm only really interested in a few games this year, namely:

Left 4 Dead
Guitar Hero: World Tour (My brother's big into GH, so that's going to save me around a couple hundred $$$)
COD 5
Starcraft 2 (I'm hoping it comes out by the end of the year, or before summer next year)

I'm probably going to hold off on Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 a week or 2 and hear what people think but I'll probably get at least one of them.

Holly fucktart did I just see Kings Bounty.....Like a remake of Kings bounty for the Geneses.

and yes quality games are going to bound my wallet for the next 3 months and I'm going to love it because I think I'm about done blending baby kittens for fun time to start gaming again.

Starcraft 2 by the end of the year? Hell will freeze over before that happens.

No Spore? I'm looking forward to that.

I always had the utmost respect for Will Wright and his games, but never found too much interest in them.

think the term quality should be replaced with hype... or at least potential. only one on your list i've had a chance to check out was ra3 multi beta and it was horrid.

To each his own. I enjoyed the RA3 beta.

Eh, mostly wishful thinking on my part, I know. It's not a game I'm going to /wrists if I don't get it soon, but it would definitely be nice to get it before the end of the year.

Yes!!! I was playing it on a Genesis emulator. After I beat it I thought I would look the game up for any newer versions. I stumbled upon http://www.kings-bounty.com/ back in April/May.

You left out the two biggest games of them all that will sell the most.

WoW 2nd expansion WoLTK
WarHammer Online

Current WoW players will buy the expansion without a doubt. Non-WoW players could care less.

I played King's bounty all the time on the sega channel loved that game but never got to pass it.

I think the ones that I am most looking forward to are the ones that were already mentioned. Far Cry 2, Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead. And maybe Dead Space. I am hoping to play on my bf, Mig31_Foxhound's beast of a rig that he built. but if all else fails, onto the 360 I go lol

there aren't that many good games games this season... the only interesting ones imo are fallout 3, left4dead and red alert 3 (i like the tiberium series a lot more though). out of those i'll probably only buy fallout 3 (the others probably only when they reach budget price levels...)

can't wait for starcraft 2 though... but that'll probably be realeased end of 2010...

Thunder Force VI is coming Oct 30th.

I'm only looking forward to Starcraft 2 but thats not coming anytime soon.

not into MMO games myself, just don't have the time to put into them :( i have honestly never touched WoW and i probably never will.

I've wasted about 2.5 years of my life on MMO's eq, ffxi, and swg. No more of that for me.

I've wasted about 2.5 years of my life on MMO's eq, ffxi, and swg. No more of that for me.

But if you're having fun for that time, how is it wasting time?

Kind of a rhetorical question, I know. :)

As I played WoW for two years and I knew I was too involved when on the weekends I would say, "I'm busy with a game." If it never gets to that point then you're just enjoying a game. It's no different than playing ten games over two years if you still put in time and effort to advance in them.

Dead Space and Left 4 Dead, two of the titles I look forward to most, I think would be safe to categorize as "high quality", definitely.

If you've read up on 'em, watched the vids, listened to what the devs have had to say about how much of an actual experience they want to make these games, I don't think they're going to disappoint. Both are intensely atmospheric, with seemingly great gameplay, excellent visuals and a great aesthetic to both.

But, everyone's tastes are different, so what appeals to one that might seem like a masterpiece, could seem droll to someone else.

With that in mind, other than the two aforementioned titles, I think Fallout 3 has great potential, and am hoping it turns out as great as it looks to be shaping up to turn out.

I'm not a huge fan of desert type settings, but Far Cry 2 also looks like it might just be a solid and enjoyable title. Incredible visuals, some great gameplay elements, and it has some environmental variety, such as jungles, rivers etc.

Definitely some great stuff coming in the next three months.

Nice list ;)

If I may add one though, most people haven't been making much of a buzz about it but Empire: Total War looks fun. Also, I was really into Sid Meier's Colonization when I was younger so seeing it redone is a real treat. Hope it maintains the feel of the original.

It's a shame Project Origin and SC2 aren't getting released this year but I assume they'll be worth the wait.

i'm a pc player, so my list is short:

diablo 3
fallout 3
sacred 2
left for dead

keeping myself busy with spore & titan quest till then.

...how much money are you planning to spend?

The issue is more about time than money for me!
Too many games and not enough time.... life sucks! :(

Yep, money isn't the problem (not in this case anyways, lol). Time is. Especially since I won't be able to play that much due to full time college and full time job.

I like to call it the year of unoriginal content.

I don't see what was so more original in 2007's fall season. Sure there was Team Fortress 2, Portal and Rock Band but that's about it. This year we have Mirror's Edge, Little Big Planet, Left 4 Dead.

The only question is do I get the games on the PC platforum, or for the 360.

My couch is pretty comfortable lol.
