I have a old tower that I will use for my server box that will be kept inside of my closet and i would like to keep it cool and VERY quiet... how about slapping a 250mm on the side panel?

the CFM is very high and the noise and low, so.... its a win for me!

any reasons why not do this?

does anyone have a schematic for a 120mm and a 250mm? I just want to see how big this fan is before i buy it. lol

heres a pic scrol down and youll see it a 120 mm in front of a 250mm and since im interested in getting a 250mm fan could i ask where youre getting it from i have never seen them sol seperately

every e-tailor i visit, has them in stock. the egg has them attached to a thermaltake side door - 30 bux

frozencpu has em, performance PCs has em too. I am sure SVC carries them as well.

When I was in Europe this summer I brought all my computer components and just bought a cheap case on Ebay. I picked one with a 250mm (25cm side fan). Let me say I Just loved it. It was so queit (I want to buy one here in America now because my 80mm case fans are just so noisy), it moved much more air then my 2 80mm case fans. I didn't even bother to install the 80mm case fans because the air flow was sufficent with just the 250mm fan on the side. Bigger fans are just plain better, I'm not sure why not every decent case doesn't have a huge 250-400mm case fan on the side.

My enermax Phoenix case came with a 25cm side case fan and it was alright, but if this is going into a closet air moving across the board is only part of the problem. the heat in the closet will rise over time as it's being added and not exhausted. All that heat trapped in there will build up fairly fast unless you have a place to vent out the air...
