For some reason I can never find these no matter how many keyword combinations I use. I'm looking for an updated cpu calculator for a c2d if anyone knows of one. Trying to get an idea of multiplier/fsb/ram divider possibilities before I hit the buy button. Thanks.

I will if it comes down to it, but I know they exist having seen them before and not all motherboards have the same RAM dividers as far as I know (haven't properly overclocked a c2d yet).

if u are using windows, select Start, then Run, finally type "calc" without the quotes and there you go! ;)

Here's the best part, I'd asked here before a long time ago but still couldn't find even that post. Finally did by putting my own name in the search fields:

[H] search doesn't go back far enough or what? I still consider myself a failure for the record.

the funny thing is, that u were the one asking about that program in the thread above. it was last year and u forgot? :D lol

well that program looks like spyware to me

No I knew I had asked before, but I couldn't even find that thread. Search on "overclocking calculator oldpueblo", you'd think it'd be on the results list. :p

The calculator actually works quite well, I'm using it to try to see which of my c2d I'm going to try to overclock without busting my DDR2 800 threshold (don't want to spend anymore money on new RAM). I have a 4400 with pinmod forcing the bus to 1066 automatically (its a fake 6700 - cache + volts) and a 6300 in my wife's machine I can swap with. Do I go with the high 10 multiplier of the 4400 or the low 7 multiplier of the 6300 and get the vmware optimizations because I do a lot of stuff in vmware as well as the lower thermal requirements. vOv
