According to the person writing the notes, this was the EA presentation using the iPhone SDK porting over 18 levels from Spore into an iPhone demo (dunno if they'll make the demo available).

that will be cool if you can transfer a saved game from your computer onto the iPhone so you can play it on a train or whatever, but i am thinking there is going to be a special mobile version of spore ?

The iPod Touch IS the iPhone, sans the phone. So I would guess yes.

BTW: Cross-platform bullshit on EA's part better not be the reason why this game is delayed...

Probably not, they stated at today's (Apple) meeting that the version of spore you see demoed took about two weeks to program. This was to demonstrate how easy, and simple the SDK will be to use and hopefully provide great applications.
