Going to add swiftech CPU and chipset cooler first, with their 350pump, and a dual 80mm fan radiator to replace the dual fan setup in the back. The 120mm fan in the front will come out as well. Dince I'm running about a 50% overclock, hopefully I'll be able to drop the temps down to the high 40s at load instead of the high 50s-to low 60s I'm getting now. I also have it on top of the cabinet now and will hopefully get those temps with it inside the cabinet, which is the deal I worked out with the ol' lady to get the $$$ to buy the WC setup. :)

Also hoping to replace the drives with SATA drives, hopefully the new LG Blueray/HD DVD drive, and a couple 74gb Raptors.

New Specs:
42" LG Plasma
Scientific Atlanta 8300HD STB/DVR

tv, front end and junk and stuff.

all the guts.
i broke the bracket for the chipset cooler... pliers and bracket are not friends, throw in dykes and shit hits the fan. the stock bracket didn't fit anyway so i made one with a newer broken zalman vga cooler bracket. i guess i finally have an excuse for keeping broken parts.

hahaha... indeed. right when i bought them a guy was selling the 260's for the same price on audiogon :D guess ill go back to checking everyday.

i just notice i have pics of my surrounds and rears but i never took any of them installed. no camera so they will have to wait.

Also hoping to replace the drives with SATA drives, hopefully the new LG Blueray/HD DVD drive, and a couple 74gb Raptors.

Just curious, why would you need raptors for the box when you could get much more storage from a 3.0Gbps SATA drive for the same price? If it's hooked directly to the TV you won't have any issue with stutters in the picture over SATA2

My new Antec Fusion Black in my old Pentium 4 2.6C.....Revive...:D

What size Vizio is that and where's that stand from? I've got a 26" and am looking for a decent sized stand and what you've got looks perfect. I'm a college student in a small ass dorm, but you're stand looks like the right size.

Posted i in "Rate my cables" bt though it would fit here as well.

This is my Games room HTPC (hence the "bling") and it had to be the most difficult build to do and have tidy cables.

That is an X-Qpack with a Jantech 600W none modular PSU! SATA headers where on the opposite side of the motherboard to the HDD cage, 4 CCLs, card reader, DVD R/W. At one point I think I was nearly crying!

How do you like that Keyboard? Is the trackball responsive? I'm looking for a nice little media center keyboard with integrated mouse and this one looks perfect.

Some nice setups here. I just got mine setup within the last couple weeks. Been tweaking the OS for the HD video. I'll post up some pics when I get a chance.

thats actaully faster and better than my first HTPC

Duron 700 @ 1.1GHz
384MB Ram
nvidia gf2 mx 32MB Svideo out
panasonic CRT 27"

after college i decided to stop buying alcohol and use the booze/party money for computers :D
this way i have something to show for my hard earned cash rather than peeing it all down the toilet. but dont get me wrong, ill still drink if its free.

you can spend $200 easy in 1 nigh at the bar, so sacrifice 2 nights and get yourself an HTPC (mine was $390ish tax in)
in 4 months you can probably save $1200, this will buy you a 50-"52" DLP rear projector or LCD rear projection
and in 3 months probably $900 this will buy you a kick ass sound system (recv + speakers, NOT HT in a box!)

dont drink for 2 years and you can buy 5-6 full gaming rigs $2K each

How customizable is that lcd, w1retap? I'm looking for something nice like that that could display time and movie name for a decent price.

It can display pretty much anything. It doesn't display the name of the movie in PowerDVD, but it will in WMP, Winamp, and Media Center.

BTW, it's a VL System MCE Display. I have their LIS2 Premium display as well. After using them for >2 years, I think they're about the best ones out there.

Still using the same htpc case and amp from page 15 of this thread, but have a new tv and stand now...

Awaiting my Matrix Orbital GX Typhoon to finish off the front of the case. I'll have pics of the process up in the casemods forum as I go.
