Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

TY:D Its a Office Depot Fabric High Back Executive, Originally around $120 but I scored it on sale for around $80 had it for a little over a year and I cannot complain.

Anyone have the Ikea Fredrick or Ikea Mikael?

I'm looking for a new desk, and those have caught my eye. I'm curious to see what they look like with someone's setup.

Here's a picture of my set-up right now, my sister's letting me test out her new 42 as a monitor. I was supposed to buy this same monitor but I'm still on the fence between 24" and 42". The 42 is great for movies and side by side pages on word documents is awesome but text on everything isn't as sharp as I'm used to and blue text in the corners bleeds a lot. As you can see I also would need to get rid of my speakers, which would not make a happy camper. I also get a little motion sick when gaming about three feet away from it. I think I'd miss the size with a 24 though. :(

Wow. Is that a new westy or just painted? Ive never seen one in black with chrome bottom lip.

t3ch> What do you use for behind desk lighting? I've been wanting to do that for a long long time.

@z3r0

I actually go the idea to back light from here but I executed differently. I had a couple spare 12" blue CCFL's laying around so I nailed double sided Velcro to the back of the desk using small finishing nails. Then I put the CCFL 's in place and wrapped the Velcro around the very ends of the CCFL's. Inexpensive and under 5 minutes for a pretty clean look.

It is, and I love the monitor. I did have to run through the avia disc on it to get it looking real nice with the 360 though. I can post up the settings up using when i get home from work if you need.

Got a Ergotron TX LCD arm for my unpurchased (undecided) 24". Will post pics when setup is complete

Z - Your Sharp looks great! Do documents and text look clear/crisp, too?

text looks great to me. Very sharp (haha...) and readable even close up. Just make sure you leave the sharpness at 0 and it's fine. Lower turns everything to mush and higher turns it to razor blades.

Thanks!! I've been deciding between the Sharp 32GPU1 and 30" Samsung 305T. I think the Sharp offers more bang for the buck and probably is easier on the graphics card. I'd rather have the ability to crank up the graphics settings at 1920x1080 than have to scale back in order handle the 305T's 2560x1600 resolution. I need to stop debating this and just go for it! :p

I'd skip on the GP1U and cash in on this deal at sears, you have until tomorrow ;) Unless of course you really want the extra HDMI and DVI input on the GP1U. The "game mode" is probably a load of junk. I'd go to say the input lag is actually less than my 24" westinghouse. If you're content with the lag on the dell, you'll be fine without "game mode"

Really? Do both TVs use the same panel?

I prefer -5 on my 32gp1u. Having it at -3 to 0, and some images start to get jaggies and become grainy.

The 20' is on the other comp below the desk. I tried to use them both on one computer but the size difference made it awkward, plus I still like to use the other comp for other purposes.

holy crap! awesome

[OFFTOPIC]

My thoughts exactly. 42" as a computer display.

I used brand new Sony 32" as a computer display for a week, and let me tell you it wasnt good at all. First of all, its TOO BIG. You have to turn your head around all the time just to look at the other side of the screen. And it produces pretty much heat, which is also not so good when you're sitting right in front of it. And finally, the resolution (1366x768) is too small when youre only 0,5 meters away.

So I switched back to my 20" LG. I think 20-24" widescreen is the perfect size for a computer display. But maybe that's just me. It seems a lot of people use 32" -> screens in the USA. Havent seen anyone in Finland with a LCD-TV as a comp display. :D

Anyways, I'll post pics of my setup later on. :p

i know for me when i tried to game on my samsung 40' lcd-hdtv it made me feel sick, even sitting back from it. and yes i could feel the heat off of it, and there was a lot of it. now i know 40' isn't 32 but 32 is still a lot of realestate to look at, its ok for web and desktop stuff but gaming is out atleast for me.
