Well I've had my G15/G5 Combo for about a year and in the last month when my 680i board was frying my RAM and some fan connectors not working anymore, my G15 started acting weird..Well it just got more weird.

The backlight flashes once in awhile..turns it self off...then turns it back on in like 10secs...then turns off...Well I just got done playing about an hour or so of CoD4...and about the last 10mins the lights just start flashing really fast and the LCD on it is going nuts. It doesn't effect my game or computer...It just starts flashing fast as hell..

Then turns off the light by itself. While I type this..it keeps turning itself off every 20secs or so.

Is it time for a new keyboard?

Yeah.. it sounds like it. I have never had a G15, but have you tried a fresh driver install? I don't know if the Setpoint drivers have anything to do with the lighting or not, but I would think they definitely have something to do with the lcd...

Worth a try..

Well thats the thing, this is a recent fresh install of XP since I got a new motherboard a week ago. And everything is up to date.

Any recommendations on a semi-cheap back lite keyboard if I do indeed need a new one?

IIRC, The G15 has a 3 year warranty

A friend of mine had a g15, and the wrist pad rest broke off...

3 days later Logitech sent him a brand new keyboard.

I have had excellent RMA with them as well regarding my g7 mouse (which is sadly on the fritz again :()

Anyway, have you tried using different USB ports, or even a HUB. I've had my g15 for about a year and have never had a problem with the lights. In fact 3 of my friends have this keyboard and have never reported an issue, 'cept for the occasional software hickup using the LCDGame Panel.

Good Luck, and try a RMA first

Well at first I thought since I was having problems with my 680i board, that the board was the one making it go nuts. But now that I got a DS4, it started doing it as of last night. Tried it in 3-4 different ports and even restarted the PC. Also went as far as wipping the drivers and software out and using a PS2 keyboard to reload drivers manually for it.

I will try to get in contact with Logitech Monday..Thanks for the responses.

logitech is good they work with you.. my old mx510 died out two years ago and it was like 3-4 years old by then.. they still replaced it with a brand new mx518 :D and i didnt even have to ship anything to them :D
