If you're looking for spyware, PC World says: Go to e-bay
For as little as $3.99, you can get bluetooth-based software that will nab info from cell phones in range. Everything from contact books, to call records, to photos. Tin-foil cell phone hat time?

This type of mobile spy software has been available for several years now, sold by companies like Flexispy and Neo-Call. Typically, however, it is much more expensive, and these companies are generally careful to promote only their legal uses such as monitoring corporate equipment, said Mikko Hyppvnen, chief technology officer with F-Secure. But the software is often used for nefarious purposes such as industrial espionage and spying, Hyppvnen said.

Gee, thanks you guys, Thanks to this wonderful bit of software, I just disabled blue tooth on my cell phone and tossed my blue tooth headset for it in a deep dark corner of my tech that I'll never use again, prolly can't sell, but paid too much for to throw away, box..
The bastards..

hopefully this puts an end to people walking around with their ear piece on everywhere they go .

It prolly won't. Most people will not realize there even is a danger, let alone do anything about it. "It won't happen to me syndrome" seems to be prevalent in the US. And others will do like I did, and pull their corded headsets out.

Only reason I even would want bluetooth headset is for when im at home in my house, and when im driving. I get PISSED at all the people using their headsets in class at school. Nothing pisses me off more. All the damn blinking lights and crap.

Why won't Ebay pull those ads?

Because creating and selling the software in question is not illegal. Just using it is. Kinda like microphones are not illegal but using one to discreetly spy on someone is in most states.

Microphones can be used legally, spyware cannot. Not a very good comparison.

Incorrect: "spyware" is used legally by many large corporations to police their own employees/networks. Key loggers, and cookie catchers predominantly. Other spy devices are used to monitor when, where, and how certain of their assets are used. Just thought you should know. :D One legal use for the spyware in question would be criminal investigation, with proper warrant of course.

And yes, this spyware will most likely be put to more criminal or unethical uses, than it will to legal or ethical ones.

Yeah software like this has been available for a long time. Sites like www.netvizor.net and spector.com offer such products for corporate monitoring.

if nothing pisses you off more than that you must be pretty oblivious.

My question is...do you need to install the software on EACH phone you want to spy on or can you just sit in the bus and spy on anyone using bluetooth (even if they don't have the spyware on their phone)?

PS - if anyone bought it from ebay, care to share the download link?

I'd like to know as well to fulfill my curiosity. Not like I'm going to sit at a starbucks and scan everyone's phone or anything like that

that software that is sold on ebay is actually free. I think ????

I searched google for " Super Bluetooth Hack" and I'm not sure if its freeware or sold but I googled it and can't find the company .

People who have those headsets in public look incredibly ridiculous.

My girlfriend and I call them robot ears. I don't know what's worse about them. The way they look or how people appear to be talking to themselves.

I'm not a Blutetooth expert. Does this software work only when the headset is being used? My girlfriend has one that she uses at home, and maybe in the car.

Aye, I believe the proper term is "bluetool". Can people not go anywhere without having to constantly talk?!

Yeah, if people wanna be this wired, they should just stick their dong in a light socket :p

i am sure if you look hard enough you will find this info for free, but most poeple cant find it so they will pay for a 1 page PDF file to get this info, pay $4 for it and some download fee aswell.

because ebay makes money from people selling things, so they dont care.

Well they do "care", but only when there is a massive public outrage about the item (s) sold.... Remember all the Nazi memorabilia they banned from their (eBay) listings because of public outrage ....

Oh, they care......when they have to.....;)
