Hey Everyone,

I got a CS:S server and i'm looking for players to help me get it started. The server has a 1.6 feel to it. :)

Come by and check it out.

fuck gungame. you need no skill for that, just need to shoot.

I have gungame but not on 24/7 only when I activate it from rcon.

I'm always jumping in and out of the server making changes and adding cool things to the server. I think the server will be much better when I upgrade the server to 32 slots.
 
I'll check it out, but please, no gungame.. The biggest waste of time ever. Also, if you've just bought this server, you probably won't start seeing regular traffic for about a month. Luck to you.
 
Why do people buy servers to host games for other people to play? Do you make any money off it? Are you just doing it out of the kindness of your heart?

I know that our clan rented a root server and installed our regular warserver along with a public server, a Gungame server and now a TF2 server. The clan war server is for our league games and the rest of the servers are all public. First off, sometimes it's fun to play different games with unknown people and second of all, yes, a little goodness of the heart is in there as well. Supporting a community for a game that i enjoy ultimately leads to more players playing the game, essentially making it more interesting and better supported in the long run. Also, the public servers serve as a recruiting tool for our clan.

I have been doing the server renting for 2 years now.

Someone asked why do I do it. I do it because I like the game and I sometimes hate going to someone else's server and they have stupid rules or getting kick/banned for stupid reasons.

I remember one day. I was playing on a clan server on cs_office map. I came through the front of the office through the steps I turn to my right and I see 2 enemies I headshotted them both and I was kicked/banned from the server.

That is why I like having my own server.

I understand and feel your []Dain. I think the worse part, in most public server is the constant sh*t talking from other players.
 
I like having my servers nice and clean. I don't allow mic spamming, chat spamming, racist remarks or anything that annoy players.

On a side note I upgraded the server to 32 slots. :)
