I am looking for a gaming 17" Laptop. An E1705, or something similar, would be great.

Looking for the following (minimum) specs:

CPU: Core 2 Duo T7200
RAM: 2GB DDR2 667
GPU: GO 7900 GS
Screen: WUXGA 1920x1200
HDD: At least 100GB
DVD-RW drive

Some kind of warranty would be nice, too.

I am looking to spend about $900-$1000 shipped. Maybe a little more for the right machine.

HEAT: smcinsjc
Ebay: aninerfan

If your laptop doesn't meet my minimum (do you know what that word means?)specs, then WHY BOTHER?

Come on, people, READ.

It's just English.

Bump for cause. will you take my dell 500mhz lappy for $2000? Oh wait....you have a minimum req. hehe

I don't want to be a downer, but what you're asking is pretty unreasonable. I do 10 times as many laptops as I do desktops, and an e1705 with those specs is worth $500 more than you're willing to pay. Mine doesn't meet your minimum requirements and I'm asking $200 more than you're offering. Just a heads up. For that kind of money, you could get a fully loaded Dell 9300 (single core), or maybe a warranty-less beat up e1705. You might get lucky, so I guess it's worth a try, but don't get so mad at people who are offering you things within your price range.

You are dead wrong. Just do a search on here and Anandtech and you will see that. People like you, aka THREAD CRAPPERS, are not keeping up with current events and the times. You look at what YOU paid for something like a laptop and you base what it should be worth on that vs THE REAL WORLD and WHAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET TODAY FOR IT.

Maybe I am a little low in what I am asking, but no way am I bigtime low, and if you had actually done real research on this and what the newer models are going for with coupons, etc., you would know this.

For now, thread crapper, stay out of my thread.

I got one...just now, from Dell directly-Dell Outlet Store. Combined with a coupon,

Awesome specs! Core 2 2.16 CPU, 2gb DDR2 667 ram, 7900 GS video, 160GB hard drive (fast) UXGA True-Life screen, and 2 freaking count ;em 2 9 cell batteries!

$1,200. I don't mind paying the extra for the better specs.

To kevineugenius.......man, what can I say? YOU WERE DEAD DEAAD DEAD WRONG. My advice: Keep your mouth shut about things you no little to nothing about, and DON'T CRAP ON OTHER PEOPLE'S THREADS.

You know what jackalope? I was trying to help you out. I have arguments like this with people all the time and sooner or later, they admit I'm right. The response of low intelligence when conftonted? Anger. Stupid people are unwilling to look outside the box, unwilling to re-examine their own opinions, and too stupid to string together a complete sentence without using either CAPS or swearing.

If I wanted to crap your thread, I'd have said something more like:
"wtf artard ne1 can see that ur not payin enuff 4 the comp u want get a brain loser LOL LOL!!!!!!!1"

I attempted to be professional, nice, and informative. I guess you aren't interested in opinions or information, but why should you be? You're the king of the known world. My apologies your highness.

You are a LOSER. You were dead wrong, yet your lack of intelligence + dillweed ego won't let you admit it. You think in the past and what you wish your crap would be worth or what, in you iddy-biddy mind, you think it "should" be worth instead of the REAL WORLD TODAY PRICE. You were not nice nor were you professional. You are an assho**. You If you could not contain yourself, you could have just sent an IM. Instead, you thread crap with your WRONG-repeat WRONG as in INCORRECT bs information.

YOU WERE WRONG.

Be a man and admit it.

If you can.

(16) No SHOUTING. If you don't know..THIS IS SHOUTING. This applies to thread titles also.

(17) No FLAMING or in-before-the-lock posts.

(18) No THREAD CRAPPING. It is rude and will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with the price, contact the seller directly, do not post it in the thread.
